Situated 400 metres from Ballito’s beachfront and overlooking the seclusion of the tropical Pigeonwood Forest, Beach Forest Lodge offers a tranquil and relaxing setting for you to enjoy and de-stress.
Owner-managed, Beach Forest Lodge offers four spacious self-catering apartments, all with their own entrances, private patios and braai areas, set in a peaceful tropical garden paradise. There is a beautiful pool deck with a sparkling pool overlooking the serenity of our Koi ponds.
Beach Forest Lodge is built on a slope, therefore there are stairs to all of the apartments excluding Yellowwood, which is on the ground level. Milkwood has additional stairs inside the unit, being double volume and is therefore not suitable for toddlers or the elderly who may experience problems with climbing stairs. We have installed a full solar and battery backup system.

The City of Durban is 40 minutes away with the magnificent uShaka Marine World, Moses Mabida Stadium (with bungee jumping facilities), Theatres and conference centres. Durban’s beach promenade offers cycling, rickshaw rides, surfing and more.
Further north of Ballito is the Great St Lucia lakes and Wetlands, Imfolozi/Hluhluhe National Game Park and a variety of smaller private game parks.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay @ B.F.L recently. It was great, private and tranquil. Sarah was a great host. I will definitely recommend Beach Forest Lodge to friends and family. The establishment is safe, secure and offers everything you need from a self catering establishment.
Excellent accommodation within walking distance of the beach.
Our room had everything we needed and felt like it had been, over years of responsive catering, been slowly shaped into a room with personality and a homely feel about it.
We were lucky enough to have the club house and pool to ourselves on occasion which we used to braai occasionally. Books and games were freely available as we relaxed amidst the well maintained garden, pool and porch.
Sarah, the owner, was there to meet us when we arrived and was gracious and helpful during our entire stay.
The nearby mangrove offers privacy, but does obstruct the view of the beach somewhat. Be sure to bring repellent for the mosquitoes!
The only advise I can give is to possible upgrade the DSTV service to include Netflix or ShowMax.
