The Goodland is situated on a privately owned smallholding surrounded by large 200year old trees. The cottages are private and are ideal for couples or families looking for a tranquil breakaway, close to various attractions in the Drakensberg region. Two cottages which include Milk Cottage and Honey Cottage can accommodate up to 8 guests in total. Milk cottage is tastefully decorated with a mix of old and new. It comprises 2 en-suite bedrooms, and an open-plan living/dining area. The cottage sleeps up to 4 adults on 2 queen beds. Honey cottage is decorated with a touch of mid-century modern and comprises 2 en-suite bedrooms and an open-plan living/dining area. The cottage sleeps 4 guests on 1 queen bed and a double bed. Both cottages have kitchens that are equipped with a fridge, stove, oven, microwave, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Both lounges have a television with DStv and also small fireplace to use on cold days. Milk & Honey Cottage each has its own braai area for guests to use, and there is ample secure parking available. Free Wi-Fi. Up to 2 well-behaved pets allowed in Honey Cottage by arrangement/pre-approval.

The area is predominantly focused on agriculture, so you will see a vast array of crops and cattle against a backdrop of the magnificent Drakensberg Mountains. The area also boasts a variety of restaurants, interesting shops, adventure activities and speciality crafted goods. Activities include hiking, white water rafting, mountain biking, fly fishing, golf, horse riding and quad biking, to name but a few.

Absolutely amazing accommodation in a great location. Everything was super clean and attention to detail throughout. The best part is the amazing hosts, Maryke and Paul, who are so welcoming and go above and beyond. We will absolutely be back!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is tastefully decorated with some delightful, quirky accents. It contains everything to ensure you have a comfortable stay. It has a wonderful view of the Berg and the friendly doggies are an extra bonus. We discovered we could have brought ours along with us as the cottage we stayed in was fenced. It is conveniently close to all amenities although the road is a bit challenging after the recent floods. However, it can still easily be accessed by car, one definitely doesn't need a 4 X 4!
Milk Cottage is the perfect home away from home. Maryke is a wonderful hostess and went above an beyond to make our engagement weekend extra special. The facilities are homely and in good condition with everything you need to unwind and get away from the hustle and bustle.
Absolutely breath taking. I went for peace and quiet. And that's what I got plus lots of quality time with my family. Already planning our next trip to The Goodland Cottage.
The owner Maryke is very friendly and welcoming. The unit is furnished exquisitely and the kitchen is one of the best "stocked and furnished" kitchens in a self-catering chalet that I have been to in a very long while. The little personal touches like having books available to read, games to play and booklets, leaflets and maps about the area is AMAZING! Thank you again Maryke for all the lemons :) We will definitely be back!
