Burkleigh House also serves as a luxury garden venue for intimate boutique weddings and functions of up to 60 people. The owners, David and Patricia Taylor, have a passionate interest in the unique elegance of Victorian and Cape Dutch furniture and this, combined with their love of entertaining and gardening has created a special warmth and comfort, bound to leave its guests with a lasting impression, well worth revisiting. Renowned for our welcoming ‘home away from home’ hospitality, beautiful garden setting, attention to detail and delicious home-style cooking, Burkleigh House is a natural choice for discerning travellers, small events, and boutique weddings.
In Room Facilities:Each room is lavishly decorated with professionally restored antique furniture and exude warmth uniquely reminiscent of a home away from home. All rooms are appointed with extra length beds, tea and coffee kitchenette, en suite bathroom, desk, free hi-speed WI FI and Satellite Television.
Area Information:Ferndale is situated just outside of the Randburg CBD and is in close proximity to well visited businesses, entertainment and retail destinations, most visited are, Brightwater Commons - Randburg, Monte Casino- Fourways, The Coca Cola Dome – Honeydew and Nelson Mandela Square - Sandton.
The Johannesburg Botanic Gardens at Emmarentia Dam are not far from Ferndale and offer a wonderful sanctuary away from the rush of Johannesburg. The dam is regarded as the best outdoor walk in the city, and is also the site of a range of Summer Sunset Concerts.
Overall Ferndale is a particularly charming part of Johannesburg and has an understated appeal that can be seen in its charismatic lush suburbs and long standing landmarks. One of the main advantages of staying within this area is its central location

The room was lovely light and clean and the bed and linen fit for a queen! The WiFi was fast and I could continue my work without any hazels.
