King William’s Town started as a mission station (in 1834) on the banks of the Buffalo River some 50km west of East London in what is today called the Eastern Cape of South Africa.
It is a charming town that has recently been incorporated into the Buffalo City Metro pole of the Eastern Cape province in South Africa.
Situated on the upper reaches of the Buffalo River and the town is a fascinating mixture of history, culture and landscape. From King William's town, the N2 leads to one of South Africa's most pleasant holiday cities, namely East London.
