The Royal Hotel dating from 1897 has a tranquil atmosphere with typical old-fashioned rooms. Watching the “activities and people” from the street facing verandah, with an ice cold drink, is a lasting experience.
In Room Facilities:* One room with double and single bed, en-suite bathroom with shower (television in room).
* One room with double bed, en-suite bathroom with bath and shower in one (television in room).
* Two rooms with 2 x ¾ beds and en-suite bathrooms with showers (television in room).
* Four rooms with double beds and en-suite bathrooms with showers.
* Three Self-catering units which can accommodate between 4 to 7 people per unit. Each unit is fully equipped.
Steytlerville is a gem in the Karoo, about two hours from Port Elizabeth and two and a half hours from George. It is on the way to Oudtshoorn and is situated between the Baviaanskloof and Addo Elephant Park on the Cape to Addo tourist route.

Excellent stay with very helpful staff.
I would highly recommend staying at this wonderful hotel. Not only is it value for money but the owners, management, and staff are wonderful to deal with! This is the second time within 2 months that we have been to this idyllic hotel. Not to be missed!!!!
The Royal Hotel is a real gem and a great find. I would stay there anytime and recommend others to do the same! The staff members that we interacted with were super efficient and friendly!!
