Our self-catering cottages are just the place to unwind, relax in comfort and take an uncrowded, undisturbed break – to Just Unwind!
And if you choose to do so, the Wi-Fi ensures that you can stay connected. Families are welcome and we also have facilities such a feeding chair and baby bed to make it easier.

Just Unwind is close to Strand Beach, Gordon’s Bay and the Helderberg mountains, with various activities and adventures only a short drive away.

Our high-class spacious cottages are well-equipped with luxurious linen and beautiful furnishings. Wi-Fi access is available throughout. A baby feeding chair and cot are available on request, as well as extra stretcher beds. A fully equipped kitchen in five of the apartments allow you to make your own meals. Each room has a kettle and microwave for making refreshments.

Each of our units has its own enclosed parking space and ample safe street parking is also available.

Somerset West and the surrounding areas offer plenty of things to do, places to see and fantastic food and wine experiences to appreciate. For popular activities such as biking or paintball, be sure to book your spot. Don’t forget your water and sunscreen when hiking in the Helderberg Nature Reserve or braving the slides at the Blue Rock Adventure park!

In the summer season, cool off in the saltwater swimming pool and maybe enjoy some reading in the shade of the plane tree. We also offer a laundry service and towels for use at the pool. If you speak German, you are welcome to request Deukom (German television) and listen to shows in your own language.

No South African holiday is complete without a “braai” (barbecue), so grab the tools and enjoy a delicious meal with your family and friends. Various activities in the surrounding area include fine dining and wine tasting in the vineyards, mountain biking, hiking, enjoying the beach, golf courses and more. We are happy to help you organise the booking of your activities and tours, as well as a shuttle service to and from the airport.

Mighty fine wine and dine

Vergelegen Estate offers wine tasting, amazing lunches at the restaurant and plenty of space for children to explore all day. It is a historically important estate, with an interesting museum, library and perfectly kept gardens.

Waterkloof Wines is all about tasting the wine as well as the stunning views of the mountain, vineyard and Gordon’s Bay all in concert. The interesting architecture of the building adds to the pleasant experience of keeping warm around the fire pit in the tasting area or soaking in the sun out on the deck.

Flagstone Winery offers well-priced wines in a natural setting of flamingos and other water-birds gliding on the nearby lake. Why not give it a try?

Lourensford Wine Estate overlooks the Helderberg Mountains. Excellent customer service, a cosy fireplace, comfortable chairs and an outdoor area for warmer days make this spot a local favourite. Take a hike, browse the markets, grab a lunch at the restaurant or just have a refreshing drink at the coffee house for more fun.
