Randjesfontein is a beautiful little suburb consisting of mainly country residential estates, stunning park areas and large oval tracks where horse racing takes place. In fact, Randjesfontein has become a popular horse racing destination and is visited rather regularly.

Randjesfontein also boasts a rich historical and cultural heritage. A few sites can be explored and discovered including the St Saviour's Church. This church was built from materials salvaged from the St Saviour's Cathedral in Pietermaritzburg. The cathedral was originally built in 1868. It was rebuilt in 1985 and is located among several old conifers. When you enter the stunning church take notice of the beautiful yellowwood ceilings, stained glass and other antique features. This church has become a very popular wedding venue. Randjesfontein is well known for its large oval grass track of 2100m in diameter. Races over 1000m are run on a straight course; beyond 1000m races are run clockwise around the turn. Here many people from all over gather together to watch the thrilling races that take place here.
