Old Willow No.7 Houseboat Charters offers guests the chance to captain their own river cruise adventure aboard houseboats docked on the Vaal River.
Located at the Korhaan River Estate in Sasolburg, Old Willow No.7 Houseboat Charters provides the sights, sounds, and excitement of self-catering river cruising.
Accommodation comprises 9 marine architect-designed boats manufactured to the highest safety standards. Guests need only bring their clothes, food, and towels.
Each boat comprises a fore-cabin with a double bed, a single sleeper couch, and storage space, an inside dining area that converts into a double bed, a well-appointed galley with a gas stove, oven, bar fridge, and sink, and a small bathroom with a hot shower, chemical toilet, and basin.
Outside, there is a sitting area under a retractable awning and a small charcoal braai facility. Deck chairs are provided on the upper deck.
Take the helm of a self-drive houseboat and navigate the Vaal Barrage or cruise along South Africa’s most dynamic, permanently navigable inland waterway spanning 55 km. Hosts will guide guests through the ropes, help chart their course and assist in becoming the skipper of their river adventure, all backed by 24-hour support.
Explore vibrant shorefront attractions, including docking at 4 different golf courses, restaurants, spas, and a casino resort, try water sports, enjoy house-spotting on Millionaires’ Bend, test fishing skills, light up the on-board braai, or relax in the tube floating behind the boat.

Had an amazing stay with friends away from the city. Charles made our stay very enjoyable and trouble-free, he has great customer service skills!
Really enjoyed ourselves but.... only once we got out in the water. We really just think that they can do a little bit more maintenance on the boats. Small things such as loose taps / lights / etc makes a difference. Also our outside table on the boat was broken the bracket was off. How difficult can it be to just fix the broken bracket, This would have made a huge difference in space to put our drinks outside. And the bathroom door could not close because the bracket wat broken. Also, at the check in stand, where the boats are docked, they can really clean up a bit. There were rags, and scrubbing brushes, black backs, and litter lying around. They can really just clean up there as this makes it look filthy when you get there. However, once we were on the boat, the experience was great. Small things can make a huge difference. Just saying these things because we really would like to come back again, but these small changes can make a huge difference. You can see that the maintenance on the boats are not up to par.

I loved this experience. Very friendly and accommodating host, and very friendly and helpful staff. This was the best getaway I have had in a very long time, given the limitations with the past lockdowns. Loved the boat, the peace and quiet at the place where the boats were docked. I definitely recommend, and yes, I will for sure be coming back myself too. Thanks to Jessica again.
Great Hospitality.
Fridge stopped working after 1 day but everything else on the boat worked fine. Kitchen was well equipped with quality utensils.
Will definitely be booking again.
