Reviews
In October 2020, our group of 5 hikers, with ages between 40 to 68 years, completed the 3 day Drie Klowe hike at Pedroskloof, Kamieskroon. We also stayed 2 nights at Pedroskloof Farm Accommodation.
With regards to the hiking trail, apart from braai wood, containers with water and a braai grill provided at the two overnight camping sites, no other facilities are available. We chose to carry everything else ourselves, including our tents. You cannot get closer to nature. It's an incredibly beautiful circle route trail, the many flowers on the trail were a bonus. The route was well marked and easy to follow, just stick to the indicated route. The distances as indicated by Berto Archer were correct. Although there are a few uphills, they were by no means difficult and the trails are easy to walk, with no obstacles.
This route is highly recommended for hikers who is willing to get by without their everyday conveniences like showers and toilets for a few days. A special thank you to aunt Ria Kennedy from the neighbouring farm Stofkraal, for her hospitality during the rain (yes, it rained in Namaqualand) during which she offered us shelter over lunch time. The ice cold beer served by Sulene and Berto after completing the hike was a welcome and pleasant surprise.
Accommodation at Pedroskloof was very pleasant and was everything to our satisfaction. Sulene’s kerrie afval and chicken pie is highly recommended. The Archers and aunt Ria showed us what Namaqualand hospitality is all about.
Plenty of room, lots of hot water and lovely comfortable warm beds. Very peaceful.
It was a great stop.
Pedroskloof Farm is a delightful place to stay - fabulous location, lovely food, and a very kind and hospitable host.
