Boplaas Guesthouse is set on its own private land and guests have access to a beautiful, clear farm dam on hot summer days as well as a private Kolkol wood fired hot tub. The house sleeps a maximum of 8 people in 4 bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen with a scullery and a lounge and braai-room with a dining area. In Room Facilities:Comfortable, luxury rooms include lovely linen and towels. Each room is equipped with air-conditioning and hairdryers.
Area Information:The Witzenberg region is part of the Koue Bokkeveld area and is known for its whitish landscapes. Massive chunks of split Cedarberg sandstone is scattered about the landscape, and, due to this fractured geology, very interesting little micro ecosystems have evolved over time. The area is also home to the Mountain cypress and lush fynbos species. A meteorite also hit the area in 1838, but most of its fragments have been lost now. Boplaas 1743 Esate are the oldest Family Business of South Africa with the 10th Generation farming currently.
Keep in mind, this is a working farm and seasonal night time spraying may occur around the guesthouse.
Property Facilities:Guests are welcome to go biking and hiking on the farm and in the general area. There is also a deck with incredible views and a braai area outside for balmy summer evenings. The historic homestead is also a national monument and is open to visitors by appointment. It is also the home of the famous Afrikaans poet, Boerneef and his work can also be enjoyed on the tour. With a pilot in the family, you can also spoil your loved ones with a flight over the area in one of our light aircraft. Flight reservations must be made a month prior to arrival.

Beautiful farm, breathtaking views.
We loved the surroundings, especially the rocky areas. With two young kids we didn't really get to do nature trails or drives but look forward to doing this next time.
