Champagne Haven consists of 2 privately owned luxury chalets in the Mount Champagne Resort in the Central Drakensberg. There is one 8 sleeper and one 6 sleeper unit.

The chalets accommodate 8 people comfortably. The interiors are furnished in the chic African style with no cost having been spared with regards to comfort and luxury. For your enjoyment there is the DStv Hotel bouquet, which includes 3 movie channels, all the sports channels and SABC 1,2 & 3 and Etv, as well as a DVD player.

The kitchens are fully equipped with stove, fridge, microwave, etc. There is also a washing machine and tumble drier. All rooms have wall mounted heaters for the glorious winter days and nights in the Drakensberg.

An outside built in braai (barbecue) area ensures many pleasant times of relaxation while enjoying the breathtaking mountain view. To make your holiday complete, the chalets are fully serviced on a daily basis.

Lying in the central Drakensberg, the Champagne peak is one of the highest peaks in this mountain range, although the prominent peak from here is Cathkin.

Because the chalets are part of a small private timeshare resort guests can relax knowing there is complete security.

Facilities include a magnificent on site dam for fishing and canoeing, tennis court, swimming pool, trampoline and children’s playground. Horse riding is also available. There is an adventure centre with a Zip line. There are many beautiful hikes in the immediate proximity as well as more strenuous hikes for the avid hiker in the Monks Cowl area, a 5 minute drive from the resort. Exciting mountain bike trails exist for the mountain biker.

Scenic helicopter flips are available at adjacent airfield.
Two top class golf courses are a 5 minute drive away.
Excellent cuisine is available at the nearby Dragon’s Rest Restaurant.

A pleasant five minute stroll along a beautiful tree lined avenue brings you to a well stocked shop, “The Oaks” for necessary supplies as well as an amazing array of gifts and souvenirs.

For a memorable experience there is a daily falcon display which takes place adjacent to the resort. Watch these stealthy birds of prey as they soar to astronomical heights and swoop down in front of the audience to “hunt” their prey.

Within a ten minute drive of the chalets there are many fascinating stops including a candle and rug factory, a world famous pottery manufacturer and the valley’s very own and popular “Valley Bakery.” – definitely no time to be on diet!
