River Cottages is situated in Parys and offers comfortable accommodation in a tranquil riverside environment.
Accommodation is offered in three fully equipped self-catering beautiful houses sleeping up to 12 guests per house as well as seven 2-Sleeper self-catering lovely units and two charming 4-Sleeper units. The 2-sleeper units are 200 m away from the river and the houses are located right on the banks of the Vaal River.
Guests can take a dip and relax by the swimming pools, lapas and enjoy the built in braai facilities. The large property has stunning nature surroundings and views.
River Cottages is ideal for getaways with loved ones, special occasions and functions. River Cottages can host groups for bachelor and bachelorettes, team building as well as bikers club functions.
The property is about an hour and a half from Pretoria and an hour’s drive from Johannesburg.
The Vaal River runs for about 1 km through the property and its banks are lined with weeping willows and reeds. It perfect for those fond of water-related activities such as canoeing, river rafting and fishing. Parys has many outdoor activities guests can enjoy from hiking and 4X4 trails in and around the town, as well as art, antique and coffee shops and a wide range of fantastic restaurants.

The cottages are dated, but clean. The staff were friendly and fishing was good with regular catches throughout the day. The swimming pools were great in this warm weather. Will return.
Clean linen. Spacious rooms and ladies were of help when we needed them.
It was absolutely amazing. The accommodation is simple, but practical and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. The best though is the nature with the river and the birds and its tranquillity. The gardens and pools also beautiful and well kept. Being pet friendly- my dogs also had an amazing time! Have recommended it to my friends.
It was awesome, nice place if you need to relax, clean and tidy.
