The child-friendly Houw Hoek Hotel is situated in the heart of the Kogelberg Nature Reserve, a leisurely 80 km from Cape Town, just off the N2 freeway. We are peacefully positioned in an exquisite location, between majestic mountains and beautiful ponds, making this the perfect place to relax and unwind. Most of our rooms have private balconies with magnificent views and fireplaces for those cosy winter evenings. We offer five air-conditioned conference facilities. Our romantic setting also makes the Houw Hoek Hotel the perfect wedding venue. We also feature a wellness spa with a sauna, steam room and a range of treatments from massage to full-body wraps and more.
We have 81 beautifully appointed rooms all with en-suite bathrooms. There are double rooms as well as family rooms. We also have rooms with inter-leading doors. Most rooms have private balconies with magnificent views of the surrounding mountains. We offer hotel bouquet 20 channel DStv. There is a minibar and tea- and coffee-making facilities in every room and free Wi-Fi. Some of the rooms have a fireplace, some have underfloor heating and some have air conditioning. Please enquire. A buffet breakfast is included in your room price.

We enjoyed our stay! Booked last minute and thoroughly enjoyed it
Amazing stay! The kids room and playground outside are great for kids, personally had so much fun at putt putt area. Room was very spacious and clean. Requested room assistance to light the fire for me and was very fast and efficient. Travelled alone with kids and felt safe entire time. Thanks again everyone 💕

Jennifer is the best!! I have been to many Hotels, resorts etc. and its the places with staff like Jennifer that makes all the difference. Hotel was great, kids had a blast, but the standout was Jennifer.

Our stay was exactly what we wanted, peaceful, relaxing and good service. Was a bit of renovations going on, but did not hinder our stay. Work on railway on our first night was really noisy
Country life with warm welcome from personnel. Quiet although there are many family activities.We enjoyed our stay overnight.

Elgin is great and filled with lots of places to visit. I would recommend popping in at the railway market and Charles Fox (it’s a bit of a distance but the champers is with it)

Close enough to get there quick and far enough to escape the 'citylife' and experience forests, home made bakes and beautiful farms...
Great weather and a great Railway market.
Not much to do. It's more so suited for people who want to unwind.
