The Mon-Aé Guest House is situated in the beautiful, historic small town of Volksrust at the foot of the well-known "Mountain of the doves", Amajuba. Surrounded by magnificent mountains, rolling green hills and clear blue skies. This beautiful old house is full of character, and has the original Origan pine floors, wooden window frames and doors, steel ceilings, marble fireplaces and antique baths in some of the rooms.
The guesthouse offers guests a choice of comfortably furnished rooms that can sleep between 2 to 4 people, as well as a Self-catering Flat. The rooms are furnished with comfortable queen-size beds with electric blankets, and each of the rooms also offers an en-suite bathroom with a bath or a shower or both.
All the rooms have TVs with OpenView, and some also have coffee/tea facilities and bar fridges. The Self-catering Flat offers a kitchenette equipped with a bar fridge, microwave, and a stove.
Free WiFi hot-spot is available and guests can relax in the main lounges which have TVs with DSTV, or on the veranda or in the lovely garden. Braai facilities are also available.
There is also secure parking and pets are welcome prior arrangement.
We are proud of our hearty, delicious breakfast, which we start out with fresh fruit, and follow with a warm full course South African feast!
Mon-Aé Guest House is located within walking distance from the primary school, high school, shops and churches. Volksrust offers a variety of restaurants, and activities such as horseback riding, bird watching, 4x4 routes, as well as attractions such as the battlefield route and other historic sites.

We enjoyed our stay. Rooms were bigger than expected. Very clean and the staff is friendly. Felt safe at all times. Having electric blankets and a heater on the rooms was a big plus!
I can recommend people to use this guest house as their point of stay in Volksrust. Bernie and his wife Katie are the most accommodating and kindhearted people I have ever met and walk the extra mile for you. I recommend them with six stars if there were so many.
