Modimolle, also known as Nylstroom, is a town located near the southern edge of the Waterberg Massif in Limpopo province, South Africa.
The new name of Modimolle means 'the spirits have eaten', which relates to the tradition of the local tribesman offering food to the ancestors.
This town is the regional commercial centre and a beautiful tourist destination. Grapes, soft fruits, peanuts and maize are all grown here.
The Nyl Floodplain and Nylsvley Nature Reserve is a must-see for tourists. This vast wetland is situated between Modimolle and Mookgophong and is home to the largest collection of water birds in the southern hemisphere.

We were well received by our friendly host. Unit was was very well kept and it had everything we required for the night. Will make use of the facility again.
I am glad to inform everyone who wish to visit Lekkerbly guest house that it's a very nice, quiet and tidy place with very good hospitality by the owners and their workers. My family enjoyed it very much and plan to revisit again in future.
The best place to stay in Nylstroom/Modimolle. Excellent hosts, air con in the room and the bed is so comfortable!

The bakery had the most divine bread rolls, and the food you wanted to purchase was available. There is a shop in the main street, Joey's "tuisnywerheid" where you can buy homemade goodies to your heart's delight!!
Small town near destination.
Very nice place.
I've spent my day at Belabela Aventura resort. Game drives, swimming,and many different games in the resort. Then I slept at a beautiful accomodation (Shakala village)at Modimolle. I also enjoyed a breakfast at Koro Creek restaurant.
Great accommodation and lots of game animals!!
