Heuwelsig Cottages and Franschhoek Camping offers lavish, self-catering cottages and a boutique style camping sites, with farm ambience, breathtaking view and memorable sunsets. All this just 5 km outside the well-known village of Franschhoek, about an hour drive from Cape Town.

Set in a unique location, against the shade of the Franschhoek Mountains, accommodation comprises of three luxurious self-catering cottages and eight separately fenced campsite, each with private ablutions and two campsite, with newly build, shared ablution.

Come and enjoy a home away from home experience in luxury and tranquil surroundings, where all self-catering units are equipped with comfortable king size beds, the finest white linen, fluffy white towels, ensuite bathrooms, kitchen or just kitchenette, smart TV (Netflix only), Wi-Fi, private entrance and secure parking. We offer 80% solar back-up and the lights will be on during loadshedding.

The campsite is designed for motorhomes, but small caravans (no double axis) and rooftop tents are welcome. Our campsites can accommodate 2 adults each, situated on grass and has a built gazebo for shade (see room description for more detail). They offer private ablutions, electrical points, water tap, portable BBQ facilities (bring own grid) and Wi-Fi at the hotspot. Solar back-up at the ablutions only during loadshedding.

No pets, no ground tents or ground sheets are allowed. Some campsites are adults only, so please make sure before making a reservation. Children by special arrangement only and they must be 10 years or older. Maximum stay for camping are 7 days only.
KolKol hot tubs can be rented, as an extra and need to be arranged at least 24 hour before arrival, via WhatsApp. Subject to availability.

To cool down in the hot summer days, there is a sparkling fenced eco-pool at the bottom of the garden. Here one can simply relax and watch the world go by, while lounging on the deck chairs, sipping on a drink and watching the sunset.

Safe parking is available on the premises.

Nearby activities include horse riding, fishing, bird watching, wine tasting, cycling, game viewing, guided walks and mountain biking.

FAMILY COTTAGE:
The Family Cottage provides accommodation for 2 adults and 2 small children, offering panoramic views of the valley and vineyard and private fenced yard in the front.
The Family Cottage provides a feeling of a secure, comfortable and spacious atmosphere, offering a lounge with fire place, kitchen/ dining area, equipped with all glass ware, crockery, cutlery and electrical equipment.
Portable BBQ facilities available outside, private entrance and save parking on the premises.

ADULTS ONLY. The Mountain View Cottage provides accommodation for two adults and offers a spectacular view of the mountains, with a private courtyard in the back.
The Mountain View Cottage provides a feeling of a secure, comfortable and cozy environment, offering a lounge with built-in fireplace, kitchen equipped with all glassware, crockery, cutlery and electrical equipment.
Portable BBQ facilities outside, private entrance and save parking on the premises.

ADULTS ONLY. Offers bachelor style accommodation for two adults, with amazing view from the balcony of the mountains and farm.
The Loft Studio offers a feeling of staying in a cozy wooden cabin and offers a open plan layout, with en-suite bathroom, kitchenette
equipped with glassware, crockery, cutlery and electrical equipment (induction plates and microwave).
Private entrance and save parking on the premises.

MOTORHOME CAMPING:
All campsites or pitches are equipped with electrical points, water tap, portable BBQ facilities (bring own grid), wood for sale and our ablutions provides hot showers, flush toilets, mirrors with plug point for electrical shavers and wash-up area for dishes.
Franschhoek Camping offers 8 campsites, on grass, with build gazebo (except C8) and private ablutions.

Franchhoek originated from the French Huguenots, who settle here in the 17th century, bringing with them the culture and charm from Europe.

Today Franschhoek, which means “French Corner”, is a vibrant town offering wine tasting, chocolate tasting, beer tasting, five star cuisines, an abundance of different artists and small boutiques for shopping, all surrounded by majestic mountains and beautiful scenery.

• HOUSEKEEPING AND KEYS
Heuwelsig Cottages offers self-catering accommodation.
Rates include white bedding and fluffy white towels.
Daily housekeeping on request at an additional cost and for extended stays arrangements can be made in advance.
We do provide swimming towels at the cottages, white towels not to be used at the pools.

• WIFI
We have wifi available to all guests. We do not have fibre and the signal is only as strong as what our providers provide. Making bookings and checking social media.

• POOL
We have a communal Eco-pool at the bottom of the garden .
Please ensure that all gates are closed at all times.
The pool will be cleaned every morning. Umbrella's will not be put our in rain or windy weather.

• WORKING FARM
Heuwelsig Cottages and Franschhoek Camping, is situated on a working wine farm. Meaning there might be farm activities early morning and late evening, people moving around and tractors and trucks, going up and down.
At certain times of the year, spraying might be needed. Guest will be informed and we apologizes in advance for any inconvenience.

• FARM ANIMALS

We have some wild game roaming free amongst the vineyards.
Springbok and Kwagga (Zebra). Please stay clear and if you go for a walk, stay in the road and do not run after them.

There are 2 border collies on the property:
Gemma, smaller one, is female and Oreo, bigger on is male. They are is very friendly and will come say hello.
Please keep small children away until the dogs are comfortable.

We have 2 cats on the property:
Rose is wild and more of an outside cat, while Penelope is white and will only venture outside occasionally.

Chickens are kept in a chicken coop at night and are free range during the day.

DO NOT FEED THEM ANYTHING. NO SNACKS OR BONES PLEASE!!!!

• BARBEQUE
Portable BBQ facilities are supplied outside the Family and Mountain Cottages, with stainless steel grid, tong and blitz in a BBQ bag in the kitchen. Wood for BBQ are supplied and more is available at an additional cost on request. Please do not BBQ inside the fireplace in the lounges!
Portable BBQ drums are available at the campsites. Bring your own grid and wood is for sale.
