Poplar Guesthouse is conveniently located in the center of Ficksburg, Free State Province. Ficksburg is nestled at the foot of the Imperani Mountain and it also happens to be the cherry capital of South Africa.
The Guesthouse offers very basic accommodation and each of the guest rooms is named after the cherry trees in the back yard. Guests have a choice of a double or single room and bedding and bath towels are provided. Rooms 1, 2 and 3 shares a central bathroom while Room 4 and room 5 shares a complete bathroom opposite in the passage. G 6 is the only room with its own separate, complete bathroom. Room facilities include a TV, a heater for those chilli eveings, clean drinking water and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Guests also have access to secure parking, braai facilities and free Wi-Fi access.
Poplar Guest House have from 4/9/2016 its own water supplied from a borehole to a tank and from the tank with a pressure pump to the whole Guest house ,24 hour water is now available.
There are several restaurants, coffee shops and cafes in town to explore, and if you are there at the right time of year then you can also enjoy the annual GWK Cherry Festival, or the Cherry Jazz Festival.GAME view on farms

Ficksburg isalso the Switzerland of South Africa when the snow falling on the Mauti mountains in the autumn till the Spring season , Trips can also go to the Katsedam and mountain viewing in Lesotho
