Die Hoenderhok and Die Plaashuisie is on a farm 12 km (only 1.5km gravel road)from Swellendam and 15 minutes' drive away. The old buildings are from the 1800's and restored to self-catering cottages.
In Room Facilities:Both Die Hoenderhok and Die Plaashuisie have a open plan living area/kitchen. There is a indoor and outdoor fireplace and TV. Die Buitekamer does not have a TV and only an indoor fireplace.The kitchen are equipped with fridge/freezer, microwave, stove plates, kettle, toaster and everything you need. The bathroom has a shower. Towels and bedding are included. The bedrooms are comfortable and cosy.We are geared for loadshedding with battery operated LED lights installed and gas cooking plate.

A lovely setting outside Swellendam. Peaceful sitting on the stoep watching the cows.
The idea was to really get away from the City pressures and the maddening seasonal Holliday crowd. A rustic farming experience in a very beautiful setting. Cooking on fires every night inside and out, Beautiful skies and a cosmos one could touch at night when the mist and clouds cleared.... Good walks and beautiful scenic drives in the general area. Host Landi was always accommodating.... Oh and very friendly cattle in an Alpine like meadow on your doorstep...
I will be back.
Had a wonderful stay in Plaas Huisie. Has everything you need. The right place to get away from city noises. Indoor braai a bonus. Beautiful mountain views. Friendly hosts.

La Belle Alliance restaurant is AMAZING for breakfast!
I enjoyed Aan De Eike Guesthouse, My room were clean and the service were excellent.I felt very safe enjoyed every moment since I arrived. Swellendam is beautiful with most beautiful views. The location was very convenient and would recommend The Republican Restaurant. The food and vibe were awesome. It's safe to walk in Swellendam, what a beautiful place for entertainment

Scenery, the residents, the roads are in great condition (compared to many many many other towns/cities in SA).
Wildebraam Estate. Friendly people. No traffic. Has all the shops and places one needs.
