The NamibRand Family Hideout is a rejuvenated farmhouse, remotely situated in south-western Namibia, on the NamibRand Nature Reserve, one of Southern Africa ’s largest private nature reserves and the only Dark Sky Reserve in Africa. Self-catering (rates exclude bedding).
Nearby there are also 3 private and secluded campsites Orion, Venus and Jupiter (deluxe campsite, wheelchair accessible). 4x4 or high clearance vehicles recommended for campsite access.
Pre-booking is essential. In addition to our daily rates, a daily per person Park Fee is compulsory for contribution to the conservation function of the NamibRand Nature Reserve.
You are advised to book at least 2 nights as our facilities are over 16 kilometres off the main road C27.
In Room Facilities:*Farmhouse
Rustic yet comfortable self-catering 3-bedroomed fully-furnished and equipped renovated farmhouse. Outside double room ensuite. Single beds only. Bedding & towels can be provided as an extra. Separate toilet and 2 full bathrooms inside the house. Newly extended kitchen 2020. 1 bathroom wheelchair accessible.
*Camping
Two exclusive campsites, totally out of sight of each other, for only one camping party each of up to 8 people, 2 vehicles maximum. BBQ and wash up facilities, en-suite ablutions, hot shower, flush toilet. 4x4 or high clearance vehicle recommended.
*Campsite Deluxe
Campsite as above but fully wheelchair accessible. Wooden deck with roof and protection. Charging station. 4x4 or high clearance vehicle recommended.
110 km south of Sossusvlei; Duwisib Castle is about 80 km away to the east.
Good stop between Lüderitz and Swakopmund or Sesriem.

*House has fully equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer, 4 bedrooms, shared bathrooms, wildlife viewing waterhole. Charging station. BBQ and large veranda.
*Campsites have BBQ and wash-up facilities, en-suite ablutions, hot shower, flush toilet, wildlife/bird life viewing waterhole. Jupiter has a charging station.
