Pecan Cottage is a large private holiday cottage set between Pecannut trees on a small but active farm. A perfect getaway for peace and quiet, no other guests, safe and secure. 1hr from Pretoria 1.5 from Johannesburg. We continuously add new to the cottage to make this a truly happy holiday venue.

Fully equipped self catering, should your want service ie. beds, breakfast etc., available for reasonable fee. Braai and bake oven facilities available to guests and outside open shower with donkey water system, walk with your pets or ours.

Within 5 km, guests can enjoy mountain hiking route to the highest point in North West, rock pools to cool down and take a rock slide into the cool water. Extra fee per person, towards mountain protection this must be pre booked.
Fishing at Buffelspoortdam. Go cycling or walking.

What an absolute wonderful little gem!!
We had a lovely time, Petro is the best host and the cottage is unbelievably comfortable.
The farm and surrounding area was the perfect setting for a very relaxing and recharging weekend.

We have been to Pecan Cottage twice and both times were absolutely fantastic!! Petro is the most amazing host - generous, friendly and very caring toward us and our 3 dogs (despite one of our dogs being rude the last time).
The cottage is set amongst a pecan orchard in a fenced in area and has a private swimming pool, an outside toilet, shower AND plumbed bath! Hot water is always available because Petro and At have plumbed in a cool 'donkey' system and Petro is happy to light the donkey fire twice a day to ensure the constant supply of hot water. I am quite happy to do it myself, and did last time we were there but Petro did it when I did not. There is DSTV, a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave oven and a gas 2 plate stove (the oven is a wood fired oven on the stoep where bread is baked, a really well designed braai and kuier stoep, an electric fence which is turned on at night.
There are plenty of opportunities to take the dogs for a walk in a safe and tranquil orchard or down to the nearby river on the neighbour's farm. Petro also offers pecan nut saplings, shelled pecan nuts and a few odds and ends in the cottage for sale at unbeatable prices.
We will be back for sure! Everything is just right for anyone to unwind and enjoy the peace and tranquility.

Wonderful place. Quite peaceful. Lovely hostess, Petros. She looks after you like royalty. Will definitely be going again.

What a wonderful little gem. The cottage is well equipped. Very clean. Bedding and beds amazingly comfortable. Petro was an incredible host and went beyond our expectations. If you need time away in the stillness with luxury and convenience. This is definitely the best experience we've had in years.
