Vaalwater Bush Camp is the last stop before entering or after leaving the Baviaanskloof and is well-located as a base for day trips into the Kloof. The self catering guest cottages and the camp sites facilities lend themselves exceptionally well to gatherings for large groups.
Guests are free to walk the various trails along the river courses, to bird watch, or to go on guided game viewing drives making Vaalwater more than just an overnight stop.
The game to be seen includes springbuck, blesbuck, kudu, duiker, Zebra and klipspringer. Tortoises, baboons and blue apes are also to be seen as well as many other smaller creatures.
The farm tracks are also ideal for mountain bikes.
Children will also enjoy the farm animals such as the ostriches, chickens, geese and ducks.
The quiet peaceful surroundings make for exceptional evenings around the campfire. The sound of the Karoo nightlife will entertain you whilst the clear skies offer breathtaking views of the stars.
There is also a 4x4 track of about 10km with some challenging sections and is suitable for beginners and the experienced.
For the hot summer days a renovated farm dam is the ideal place to splash and cool off.

Reviews
A bit of graffelroad but the stay was perfect.
Very comfortable, yet simple accommodation. Warm beds and an indoor braai which battled a bit to draw. However, an extremely kind host who did EVERYTHING to make us as comfortable as possible. Definitely worth supporting !

It's one of SA's most beautiful wilderness experiences
We enjoyed the magnificent beauty of the mountains and plants, as well as the tranquility and sense of timelessness.
Just loved the views and nature.
Scenery, tranquility and ruggedness.
Being in the bush with no contact from the outside world :-)
