Houseboat Myrtle is a self-contained cottage on the water. Permanently Anchored in the Knysna Lagoon, it’s just a two minute dinghy ride away from the Knysna Waterfront.
Myrtle is one of the original Knysna houseboats and has a lovely wood finish inside, done by a well known carpenter of the area. With its two decks, it’s perfect for lazy days floating on the lagoon. From the deck you can enjoy views of the lagoon, the quays and the Knysna Heads. The decks are also perfect for relaxed sundowners, and if you’re up early you’ll find the sunrise quite rejuvenating.
Houseboat Myrtle is very spacious and extremely stable as she floats on pontoons, these two features on a houseboat, suprise many a crew member on arrival.
Houseboat Myrtle sleeps four guests on two double beds. The private main bedroom has its own deck. The second bed is a convertable bed, more ideal for two children, as it is in the living area,so is not a private room.
The boat has a kitchen nook with a 4 plate gas stove, oven and large fridge, there is also a braai on the deck if you would like to cook outdoors whilst taking in the views, jumping in the water for a refreshing swim or trying to catch a fish is always a lovely option. It also has a spacious bathroom with a hot shower and a toilet.
If you’re not keen on staying in, the restaurants at the Waterfront are easily accessible. Late nights are best spent around the fireplace inside, chatting, listening to music on the sound system, playing board games or finding something on the bookshelf to read, It is also lovely sitting on the deck, under the stars, with a drink or fishing rod in hand, enjoying the water lapping around you in the heart of Knysna One night stay has an extra charge of R250 service fee

Reviews
Magical with everything you need. Beautiful and peaceful with excellent views. We hope to return in a few years as 2 days were just too short to enjoy the magnificent accommodation. When we arrived on board the host was careful to explain everything to us and also trained us in how to use the motorized dingy. The file contained all the information we needed.
In summary it was perfect and we don't know how we can top this trip ever.
