Pennygum has some of the most magnificent views in the Southern Drakensberg Mountains – a World Heritage Site - and is set in peaceful, unspoilt surroundings in beautiful grounds with apple orchards.
Our 4 garden cottages have beautiful settings in a peaceful atmosphere. Pennygum is an ideal base to explore the Southern Drakensberg in South Africa. You will find us only 6.4 km from Underberg on the Drakensberg Garden Resort Road.
In Room Facilities:Our four cottages are perfectly equipped for self-catering. All cottages are serviced most days and some have electric blankets in Winter.

Mountain views and the breath of fresh air
It's far enough away from all the hubub to really feel like you're away from it all but also has a lot available to do if you so wish. The scenery is beautiful and the air is fresh!
Hiking, swimming, relaxing.
If you're in to adventure, then Underberg is the place to visit. There's no shortage of trails for running, hiking and mountain biking. It's close to the Drakensberg and Sani Pass.
Breath-taking beautiful! Well stocked convenience store (Elands Rest) and a few nice restaurants to have coffee. Just very cold, even in Nov.
Scenery in the surroundings.
For us its all about the hiking in the mountains.
