African Game Lodge is a vast Private Reserve with spectacular mountainous scenery, stocked with a variety antelope species, which can be enjoyed by taking a game drive, hiking or MTB trails to really relax and enjoy nature at its best.
In Room Facilities:All accommodation, whether a thatched roof chalet or luxury safari tent, offers comfortable bedding (double bed; and two single beds if it's a two-bedroom chalet), bathroom, comfortable lounge and kitchenette with crockery, cutlery, gas stove and fridge/freezer. Linen, towels, amenities and refreshments are provided. Outside barbecue facilities to enjoy the clean Karoo air.
In the evening, spend time on your verandah with wonderful views over a large plain and mountains or join us for a sundowner at the lodge where guests gravitate when the sun goes down.
Area Information:The reserve is close to Montagu, a popular getaway town in the Cape Winelands area, amidst vines and fruit orchards with spectacular mountain scenery. It is also on the popular Route 62.

We have stayed here 4 different times already, In both summer and winter seasons. We always enjoy the beautiful scenery, the very comfortable accommodations and the comfort of the Lodge as well. To go out and view the wildlife, have a picnic and a sun-set game drive is really spectacular. The quiet surrounding are such a good way to get-away from the rush of our normal lives. the staff are really efficient, friendly helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys the outdoors, viewing wild life and a cozy fireplace at night.
A total off the grid experience, beautiful place. Very friendly host made us feel like family. Superb getaway from the city.

We loved the tranquil location. Our game drive guide Monwa is an absolute gem.
Lovely place if you are looking to escape the city Hustle & bustle . But they should warn us about the 30km drive on a dusty road.
Great time spend with no TV. no cell phone or radio Love the remote destination and the silence. Beautiful stars at night. The accommodation was well equipped and sparkling clean. Lovely fluffy towels available for use at the swimming pool. We went on a game drive and it was stunning. Our guide had the best eyes to find wildlife way before any of us could. Love time Will recommend to all

Came up to Montagu for a climbing course with Blue Mountain Adventures and stayed at the Tolhuis with two friends. It was just perfect. Firstly the location, it was only mere meters away from our first day's location for climbing , LEGOLAND. We could literally stop and walk up to our accommodation for a coffee and lunch break! The place itself was just perfect for the 3 of us. Great little braai area where we enjoyed our evenings and the place is simple and humble yet stylish! The hosts, Michelle, Ivan, and Jason their 6-month-old puppy were just very warm and accommodating. Thank you!
