What our abode has to offer is a view unsurpassed, the Drakenzicht Mountain Cottage is situated on 50 acres of breathtaking Drakensberg beauty. The uKhahlamba Drakensberg Mountains is a World Heritage Site and our farm house has been nestling peacefully at the foot of the Central Berg for more than five decades. Drakenzicht cottage has 4 bedrooms with air-conditioning. The first, second and third bedrooms each contain 2 single beds that can be converted to a king-size bed on request. The fourth bedroom is an upstairs loft room that contains 3 single beds. The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a bath and a shower and twin washbasins. The second bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a shower. The third bathroom contains a bath and a shower. The kitchen, dining and living area are spacious, with high ceilings and large glass windows to enjoy the beautiful views. The kitchen is equipped with all the necessary self-catering amenities, like a stove and oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils and an automatic washing machine. The spacious lounge and dining area has a flat-screen TV, a fireplace and underfloor heating, and a large dining table. An inverter/battery system ensures power during load shedding. Drakenzicht’s star feature is the lovely covered verandah which serves as an entertainment area with a braai, a generous wooden table seating ten and an equally generous view of the mountainous horizon. The open braai facility on the outskirts of the elevated property shares this sweeping panorama. Take a closer look at the various natural landscapes and outdoor scenery from benches scattered in the sunny garden. Or take a picnic blanket and watch the children play on the trampoline and the swing. Huge trees provide a lovely canopy for lazy afternoons, and the garden supply a variety of flower and bird life during the year.

A farm house with a nice setting. No frills but all you need, equipped kitchen, hot water, clean sheets.
Very nice relaxing place. The sound of the valley and the birds in the morning brings that inner peace within yourself.
We have just returned from a wonderful week at Drakenzicht in the Berg. We were greeted by a very pleasant, friendly and helpful man who assisted us with the unpacking of the car on arrival. The view is simply stupendous and breathtaking. The house appears to be an old farmhouse that has been somewhat updated and is large and comfortable. I will definitely be returning and can highly recommend a visit here!!!

The view is so amazing, and the area so tranquil that you can pretty much forgive any small inconveniences...
There really is NO TV, not even local, so better to be prepared!
The deposit is higher than normal - my only gripe is that it could have been paid back in a smoother way.
But that view puts one in a pretty forgiving mood! And I guess the fact that we will be back, says it all.

Very comfortable
A lovely relaxing venue with a perfect elevated view of the mountains. A highly equipped kitchen and very spacious living space. If you are lucky you may see resident buck including Nyala. Highly recommended.
We love the accommodation. Lovely place.
Although the house itself was somewhat dated and in need of a facelift the settings and the stunning views made our visit very pleasant.
