The Accommodation varies from double story units to elevated wooden chalets and secluded beach cottages. Rugged Rocks is a private and secluded area that has to be experienced to be appreciated. The accommodation and surroundings are such that after experiencing our hospitality, our visitors return year after year.
Office hours are between 8am & 4pm.
CORAL CABIN (sleeps 4): Coral Cabin is the second of two adjacent elevated wooden chalets which share a common lawn and braai (BBQ) area. The chalets are nestled among indigenous dune bushes and comprise of two bedrooms and an open plan kitchen and lounge area. Both the main bedroom and lounge lead onto a wooden balcony with beautiful views of the sea and surrounding coastline.
General Information: All units are fully equipped for self-catering and include bedding. The resort is connected to the Port Alfred Municipal water supply, and each unit has an additional rain water tank for drinking purposes. TV connection points and aerials are fitted to some of the units. We do not provide towels, connection leads, or a laundry service.
Servicing: Units are not serviced, but when occupied for more than seven days there will be a change of linen and a general clean up. Arrangements can be made for a cleaning lady at a nominal fee.
Kitchenware: We provide: Electric stove with oven, or 4-plate hob with microwave, combination fridge-freezer, kettle, toaster. Pots; 1x small, 1x medium, 1x large, roasting pan, frying pan, colander. Cooking utensils, egg flip, draining spoon, tongs, vegetable knives, bread knife. Jug, salad bowl, Pyrex dish, cutting board. We do not provide potato peelers, can openers or corkscrews.
Additional Services & Facilities: Boating on the Kowie River, 40km Canoe trail and overnight hut, 60km drive from Grahamstown, Long unspoilt beaches.

My husband Ted and I would like to say a HUGE thank you to Rugged Rocks and Louise! We had one of the best holidays ever - absolutely loved the cottage, Coral Cabin, which was so tastefully and attractively decorated and so comfortable. The access to the beach was very easy and the nicely maintained pool in the resort was a real boon. We also loved the idea of the adjacent cabin, Dune Den, being so conveniently situated and the whole resort is neat and well-maintained though so relaxed. We hope to spend another longer holiday there soon with relatives in both cottages. It was wonderful to be able to see the sea and the sunset and sunrise and sleep to the surging sounds of the waves.
Port Alfred is a really lovely destination for beach lovers and walkers, and we are crazy about the Guidos on stilts next to the causeway. It is an easy drive from P E where we live and just far enough to feel that you are going away.
Thank you so much again, we just loved everything about Rugged Rocks and cannot recommend it highly enough!
