Strategically positioned, The Merry Crab Beach Lodge (self-catering accommodation), is among the most ideal Indian Ocean locations from which to experience one of nature's greatest mysteries! Filmed by CNN, BBC & National Geographic, it is the single biggest fauna event to occur in our coastal waters annually.
Out of season tranquillity, a short stroll through the Admiralty Reserve and voila ... your own private beach!
The Merry Crab Beach Lodge offers a variety of accommodation types in one room STUDIOS, one-bedroom CASITAS & two-bedroom CABANAS all en-suite. Equipped with large paddle fans, DSTV (hotel bouquet), microwaves, ovens & fridges.

Every STUDIO, CASITA & CABANA has its own safe, private sundeck and individual braai (BBQ) delighting all who've stayed in them.
While the emphasis is on privacy & comfort at The Merry Crab Beach Lodge, the cool Lapa & inviting pool provide an ideal rendezvous. The "Potjie Boma", ideal for all-weather braais, groups & parties.
The Merry Crab Beach Lodge can accommodate parties of 2, 4 or 6 - up to a maximum of 28 adults + 12 children u/12yrs (maximum 40 guests). Pets welcome subject to our pet policy.
Our guests (subject to prior arrangement) have access to the Munster Sports Club (tennis, squash & bowls) as well as the Angler's Club, the favourite fisherman's drinking hole. Situated above the Life Savers' Club it overlooks the boat launching beach. An easy walk will bring you to both these venues. Golfers can enjoy the same privilege.
Visit our 'Moving Fish Restaurant' and don't forget to bring a rod! Enjoy the warm surf & soft sweet air in a Malaria-free area!

A most enjoyable stay at the Merry Crab. Close to restaurants, pubs, beaches and scenic beachfront drives. Accommodation is very clean & comfortable with friendly, helpful staff. Will definately return.
Very friendly and helpful people. Quiet and peaceful. Clean and well maintained, loved it, will be going back for another holiday.
The lodge, nestled in beautiful surroundings, is ultra clean and well equipped. The garden is beautiful and has wonderful birdlife. The beach is a short walk away and is magnificent and private - a hidden gem. The staff is friendly, helpful and super-efficient. I had breakfast each day which was delicious. I had a lovely, peaceful holiday and will definitely return
We opted for a cabana this time which was very comfortable for too. The garden is still beautifully kept and it is very pleasant that the accommodation is a short stroll from the beach. The kitchen was well supplied with equipment and utensils. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Just be aware that cell phone and wifi reception was almost non-existent which was not a big problem for us as we just wanted to relax, but could be an issue if you need to be in touch
