Our intimate 14 bedroom lodge offers an exclusive game viewing experience which, combined with our luxurious, secluded accommodation, and variety of dining options, creates a remarkable, private retreat in which to regenerate body and mind.
Bukela's rates are inclusive of accommodation, all meals, selected beverages and two game drives per night.
Conservation Levy is now deemed essential to assist in the significant costs associated with our multi-layered anti-poaching measures on Amakhala Game Reserve. The following levy will apply: All visitors - R140 per person per night. Children under 12 years - R70 per person per night.
On 1 October 2023, the Conservation Levy will change slightly from R140 to R210 per adult and reduce from R70 to R105 per child. These changes will only apply to guests staying at Amakhala lodges with a check-in date from 1 October 2023 onwards. Kindly be informed that flying drones on the reserve is strictly prohibited at all times.
The Levy will be charged to the guest’s overall bill and paid at check-out. We thank you for your help in supporting this initiative.
In Room Facilities:Each suite and tent is well appointed for our guests' optimal comfort with every amenity including large, en-suite bathrooms, each with a deep-soaking tub overlooking the African bush, an indoor and outdoor shower for the more adventurous, a private wooden deck, bar fridge and facilities for making hot drinks. Our lodges have a central fireplace for romantic evenings too. Beds are king size or 2 singles depending on guest requirements. All suites and tents are air-conditioned while bar fridges and automatic kettles are an added convenience.
Area Information:Resting in the rolling Eastern Cape hills 80 kilometres outside of Port Elizabeth in the Addo area, Bukela Game Lodge offers a gentle, tranquil escape from the world. The abundant Amakhala wildlife includes lion, leopard, cheetah, white rhino, elephant, giraffe, zebra and buffalo, ranging over a breathtaking oxbow river plain in the heart of the 7500 hectare, malaria-free conservancy.
Property Facilities:Some of the additional services we have on-site include: laundry facilities, a fireplace in the main lobby, a bar in the dining area, braai/barbecue for dinner under the African stars, spa and a swimming pool to cool down in-between game drives. Airport shuttle can be arranged at an additional cost.
Attractions:Become part of Africa as you experience our Big-5 Safari Adventure during your stay on the malaria-free Amakhala Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. Included in your stay are morning and evening game drives leaving from your lodge.
