We are a self-catering guest farm 4 km from Nieuwoudtville with only 2 km gravel road. All the unique farm style houses are fully equipped with 2-plate stove, fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster; full bathroom with bath and shower; electric blankets, linen and towels. We have 12 houses and 20 rooms but can accommodate big groups of 42-53 guest. Here is plenty to see and do, flowers always “weather permitting”! Willemsrivier is a historic (1745) working sheep farm with lots of history and things to experience – we even have a small museum on the farm as well as old fashioned tractors! Historic sheep farm with farm-style accommodation. Please be aware this is a working farm. The buildings will take you back to the historical days and make you feel nostalgic so you will experience the old world.

Willemsrivier is 4 km from Nieuwoudtville with only 2 km gravel road. Capetonians drive the N7 past Piketberg, Klawer, and turn right at Vanrhynsdorp. Continue till you get to Nieuwoudtville. Take the first road left at Grasberg. The farm is the first one on the left. from Upington you drive through Kenhardt, Brandvlei, Calvinia and the Nieuwoudtville, Here you turn right to Loeriesfontein. Take the first road left at Grasberg - its a gravel road. Willemrivier is the first farm of the left. Coordinates -31.346707, 19.088976

Afgesien van die blomme was dit die wonderlikste plaaservaring ooit. Die skaapskeerdery, speel in die poele water by die waterval, bakkie ry, skape aanjaag en binnebraai was baie lekker. Die voels se gewetter wat aanhoudend was en die rustige stil nagte was 'n groot bonus. Sal definitief weer gaan. ......'n naweek het soos 'n week gevoel. Totaal uitgerus.
We loved the cottages - so typical of farm buildings but with everything you need and clean and comfortable with tiled bathroom and abundant hot water - best value for money ever and highly recommended!!
We enjoyed our stay at this authentic farm.. Our host was fantastic and very helpful with organizing our meat for us.. Thanks for that.. The accommodation was adequate with all the necessary things. I think the bonus was that the flowers was on our doorstep.. Very beautiful.. We definitely will be back.

Nature experiences
We love going on alternate routes and roads less travelled. Nieuwoudtville is at the crossroads of several of these. It is delightfully antique and rural and the scenery is stark and harshly beautiful. We recommend the waterfall (even if not flowing) and the quiver tree forest and the Brandkop village ruins (for photographers).

Stayed at Karabo Lodge Self Catering. Well recommended.
Besides the annual spring flower show there are various other points of interest such as the waterfalls and kloof, the Kokerboom forest, an amazing private motorbike collection and the Oorlogskloof a little further.

It is a great destination in the flower season.
We were lucky to have beautiful weather and the display flowers on the various farms were superb.
We particularly liked the trekpad with its large variety of annual flowers.
We enjoyed the local cuisine at Matjiesfontein padstal & Smidswinkel restaurant.
