We are a bird paradise with close to fifty species on our doorstep, and with the Kruger Park our direct northern border. We experience spectacular views of game in the park as they come to drink water in the Crocodile River. We also have a dam with various species of fish for the catch-and-release angler. We are the ideal location for a much needed relaxing break away.
In Room Facilities:Each air-conditioned room and suite at Rio Vista, with modern furniture and colorful décor. All room types have an en-suite bathroom. Some rooms have a kitchen and the suite has a spa bath.
Area Information:Rio Vista Lodge is located on the banks of the Crocodile River bordering the Kruger National Park. Supermarkets, restaurants, and shops are within 1 km and the town of Matsulu is 28 km away. Johannesburg International Airport is 383 km away and a shuttle service is provided upon request.

Anita and all the staff were ABOLUTELY wonderful in every way. Our family loved the unforgettable time we had at Rio Vista. The pool, the view, the animals, the food & drinks, the room's comfort, all of it A++! Will definetly stay there again. 100% recommend.

Restaurant = EXCELLENT.
Very nice hotel, good situation near entrance Krugerpark, nice swimming pool near the river, very good food.
Very friendly, communicative and helpful staff. We had a nice room on the ground floor with a view of Kruger Park and the pool. Very clean and everything was available as described. Even our very late check in and very early check out was no problem. Only the packed breakfasts are in need of improvement. The location is very suitable for day trips into the Kruger, as it is only 8-10 minutes away from Malelane Gate. It is also very convenient that the restaurant "The Deck" is in the house. Very good food, but only until 20:00.
The Lodge is well situated along the river, and we saw elephants, waterbucks, wildebeests, giraffes and lots of hippos...
We booked a luxury room on the river side but were shown a luxury room at the back near the generator. The other option was a standard room but no refund. Finally we got the honeymoon suite next to the river. It was excellent. The restaurant is well located, but the food is not good.
The lodge is very beautiful. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The restaurant is very delicious. The staff is available and nice.
The only problem is internet that is poor.

The room was clean and as advertised. The Deck restaurant: food was "fine" not exceptional, but it felt like decent value. I stayed there for business, and would return there if I have to go back.

Being able to go into Kruger Park
Small with nothing to do.
The peacefulness however is nice.
