Kandelaars Cottage is situated on a working ostrich farm and is nestled between the hills of the beautiful, serene Karoo valley of Kandelaarsrivier which is just under 10 minutes' drive from Oudtshoorn on the main route to Mossel Bay. The Cottage is tucked away just far enough to have a countryside feel, yet it is easily accessible for guests traveling to and from their desired destinations. Kandelaars Cottage, circa 1890, is lovingly restored with its original farm-stay touch still celebrated. The surroundings of hilltops, the Kandelaars River and neighbouring farmlands all add to this quaint cottage's unmistakable charm. The nature-lover and outdoor enthusiast can enjoy hiking and biking trails when stepping off the veranda, set out through the untouched Karoo landscapes where bird-life and small antelope are in abundance. The Cottage can be enjoyed by guests old and young, for a relaxing holiday, weekend getaway or a quick sleepover - it will leave a lasting impression regardless of the reason for the stay. Nature, beauty, privacy and the simpler things in life are at the core of the experience when visiting Kandelaars Cottage.
