Campsite Rondawels
Few other reserves offer as complete an outdoor experience as De Hoop – sea, sand dunes, the vlei, a floral sensation of rare fynbos plants, diverse antelope and the Potberg Mountains. Birders observe wading birds on the shores of the vlei while the Potberg Mountains are home to a colony of endangered Cape vultures. Hikers and cyclists have close-up encounters with bontebok, Cape mountain zebra, eland, baboons and ostriches. Activities are diverse and guests can choose between various day walks through the rich fynbos plains or along the deserted coastline, or mountain biking along the many gravel roads or scenic game drives. Lazing on the beach and snorkeling in the many turquoise rock pools is simply another way to pass a rewarding day. Day visitors welcome, and restaurant open daily.
The 5 Campsite Rondawels are thatched cottages with 2 beds with outdoor shared showers and toilets. Perfect for guests looking for simple and affordable accommodation with a braai area, but no other kitchen facility. Each Rondawel has a bar fridge, coffee & tea making facilities and hand basin. 2 Outside showers and 2 toilets are shared between the 5 Rondawels.
The Campsite Rondawels form part of the Opstal area, which offers the largest amount of accommodation in the De Hoop Collection and is close to the hub of central offices, restaurants, bars, spa and curio shop. It is a short drive, hike or cycle to many of the interesting locations in the reserve. There is a tennis court, swimming pools and boules courtyard.

What a wonderful serene place it was! We loved the view from the rondawels, the dimple life outdoors, especially the open-air showers!!
At night perhaps a bit of a challenge!
The restaurant was the opposite of simple, with delicious meals, and friendly professional staff.
We loved our stay and can recommend De Hoop to all nature livers!
Excellent!
Totally impressed from the park entrance reception and check in (Denise), to the welcome at reception (Danitsa and team) to being 'wined and dined' in the beautiful restaurant hosted by Ashley and catered for by talented Marsha who prepared a 5* meal for just the 2 of us (Covid times!) Well priced First Sighting Wines to accompany the meal, a fabulous wine cellar to dream about, and just a general WOW at De Hoop. The 13k trail is not adventurous, but if offers myriad opportunities for countless macro plants and photography and open spaces. The beach - Koppie Alleen disappointed by virtue of the weather and the water logged road, but the scenery was (for me, an Arniston child) nostalgic and stunning. Our 2nd night we braaied beneath a canopy of stars, followed by a morning walk in the 'veld' capturing the macro plants again. Fully indulged, "pampered" and delighted.

De Hoop Nature Reserve Reviews
Everything was lovely.
Vlei cottages comfortable, high quality linen and amenities. Serviced and replenished daily. Spotlessly clean.
Bird walk and nature drive both excellent. Our guide was very knowledgeable and a great host.
It's secluded, quiet and a true getaway for those who don't like crowded places.
Restaurant meals were excellent, service too. View from restaurant and deck very beautiful.
