Like the Voortrekker forefather, guests soon discovered that there is more to a dip in the river than meets the eye. For starters, this is not ordinary H2O. The Natal Spa is famed for its hot mineral waters. The thermal waters rise up along fault fissures and are heated at the source to between 36 and 45 degrees Celsius.
These “triple waters” contain healing chlorides, sulphates and carbonates which is said can help treat gastric ailments, digestive disorders, biliary, constipation, fibrositis, gout, rheumatism, insomnia, skin disorders such as warts, and even the stresses and strains of everyday life.
Gooderson Leisure bought the resort in 2006. At the Natal Spa, their formula is simple – take plenty of rest and relaxation and just add revitalizing mineral water. Guests stay over in 57 large, comfortably furnished en-suite bedrooms – these include 16 Twins, 30 Family Rooms, 3 double rooms, 8 luxury King Size Rooms and 23 Self Catering Units. E

Meals were delicious. Compliments to the Chefs. Chef Heavyman made me the best pork belly meal. Tops all the chefs in Durban. Keep it up. Well done.
The food was divine. Rooms were clean just minor maintainance issues that need attention. All the staff from reception, bar, dining hall all very friendly and helpful. We all thoroughly enjoyed our short stay there.
