The farmhouse is in a stunning remote setting, overlooking a dam (make sure your toddlers can swim), farming valley and mountain range. The house has 4 bedrooms, 3 are in the property (main en-suite, the 2 other guest rooms share a bathroom). The fourth bedroom has an outside entrance and has bunk-beds, for the noisy teenagers). High clearance vehicle recommended but if you drive very carefully you can reach with normal car. If you prefer, Kobus can take you through and you can leave your car at Orange grove. Electricity supply enough for lights and all basic necessities. If long period of cloudy weather it might be interrupted. No high power appliances can be used. Gasgeysers for hot showers and lots of wood for fireplace
In Room Facilities:The house is completely off the grid. The electric source is solar power so no high usage appliances are allowed/advised. The stove is gas and electric oven cannot be used (unless you want a romantic night with candlelight). Fridge/freezer. Fans in bedrooms. Full DStv. Lots of peace and quiet.
Area Information:Robertson is a beautiful country town located about 2 hours drive from Cape Town. The house is located 10 km before Robertson in the mountain ranges.
Property Facilities:Pool and dam for swimming.
Lots of nature trails, for hiking and mountain biking (Cape Epic passes next to the house).
The house is a haven of peace and quiet. The valley(vinkrivier) is an interesting mix of modern farming techniques and natural beauty.

The Robertson area has a lot of wine farms with wine tastings and good food. In the village there are lots of restaurants, coffee shops, a stunning nursery and art gallery. But you do come to this area to wind down and to avoid crowds and busy areas.

Ek is gebore en getoeë van Robertson. Dit sal altyd my hartsplekkie wees. Was aangenaam verras om Die Laaitjie op jul webtuiste te sien. Dit was oorspronklik my oorlede pa se suster en haar man se plaas. My pa het op die aangrensende plaas geboer. Ek en my broers het saam met die neefs Die Laaitjie plat gespeel. Die waterval was daardie jare al 'n groot aantrekkingskrag vir kuiergaste. Oujaarsaande is groot makietie hier gehou. Selfs die dorps inwoners het kom meedoen. Dankie vir die mooi fotos. Ek kon so bietjie in my kinderskoene terug stap.
Robertson is really a gem in the Cape Winelands, great wine tasting and dining (Christina's @ Van Loveren, Bourbon Street, Four Cousins, Excelsior) experience all in an authentic environment. A short drive from CT, ideal for a relaxing weekend at a small town pace, to recharge your batteries.

The Golf Course was challenging but very good condition. Bourbon Street Restaurant had great menu and great service.
