Fernhill Guest Farm, outside Knysna, is a piece of paradise in the heart of the Garden Route, where you will find a new connection with each other once you slow down, let go of all the distractions and allow nature to be your teacher.
Whether a small group, a family, or a couple seeking a romantic getaway, our 4 Farm Cottages or 6 Glamping Tents have you covered...
Our self-catering accommodation is not just an overnight stop, it is a full South African farm experience where you can learn how to milk a cow by hand, interact with the farm animals, and even indulge in our farm fresh homemade ice cream.
The TWO BEDROOM FARM COTTAGES can each accommodate up to 5 guests (children of all ages welcome at the cottages). There is an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area with large French doors, leading onto a shady patio with built-in braai. The cottages have an inside fireplace to keep you warm on the colder nights. The Cottages are fully self-catering and guests can even bring their pets (by arrangement).
Our TENTED TREEHOUSES have all the comforts for an enjoyable stay. The six self-catering tents are situated in a small Indigenous forest on Fernhill Guest Farm. En-suite Tent with a King-size bed, electric blanket, fan, heater, Kitchenette unit, fridge inside. Guests have the choice of a charcoal braai on the deck or a wood-burning firepit next to the tent. The bathroom has a spa bath with a shower over the bath and scenic forest views.
Unfortunately no Pets allowed at the tented treehouses.
Double Tented Treehouse can sleep 2 adults.
Small Family Tented Treehouse can sleep 2 aduts and 2 children between 6 and 12 years old
Family Tented Treehouse can sleep up to 4 persons (no Children under 6)

We had a great time at Fernhill Guest Farm. Marcelle and Mia are fantastic hosts and are very eager to please. It was great to be so close to nature. We took our dogs along with us, their first time away, and it was a great experience for them. We will definitely be back!
How nice it is to sit on the porch, at sunrise / sunset, with your coffee / your glass of red wine and watch the horses, hear and see the cows, listen to the silence and the birds chirping. The monkeys visit now and then and the peacock makes an entrance. Lekker to go for walks and the accommodation is good and has everything I need.
Very quiet, relaxed and comfortable stay!
We truly enjoyed the clean and fresh country living especially the dogs being able to run around and interacting with the horses.
The host was friendly and helpful and the accommodation comfortable and clean.
Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely cottage. This was truly an escape from the busy city life (much needed).

Thank you for an amazing stay, we loved every minute of our time here.
The scenery was wonderful, the cottage (Rose), just what we wanted and of course we loved the interaction with the horses and pony. Seeing the baby calf, pigs etc.

WE WERE LOOKING FOR A QUIET COMFORTABLE SPACE FOR TWO PLATONIC FRIENDS TO WORK ON SOME WRITING. FERNHILL WAS PERFECT: QUIET, COMFORTABLE, AWAY FROM EVERYTHING (THOUGH WE COULD HAVE GONE TO THE SEA OR WALKED AROUND THE LAKES) WITH FRIENDLY OWNERS WHO LEFT US UNDISTURBED FOR 5 DAYS. TWO RAINY DAYS DID NOTHING TO SPOIL OUR STAY. WE ENJOYED THE COWS AND HORSES EATING 'OUR' ROSES OVER THE FENCE, AND LOVELY VIEWS OVER LUSH MEADOWS, TO DISTANT MOUNTAINS AND THE SEA.
OUR DOGS CAME TOO WHICH WAS A GREAT PLUS.
Had a wonderful birthday weekend. Enjoyed the serenity & quiet atmosphere.
The hospitality and friendliness we found was so refreshing. Thank you for a memorable getaway...
