Large kitchen with quality cooking range, this is a chefs delight with its two ovens and five burners. Two beautiful and comfortable sitting rooms, both with wood burning stoves to keep out the winter chills and create a welcoming ambience. The en-suite bedrooms are spacious and well equipped for wardrobe space. The beds are welcoming and softly sleep-inducing after a long day at the wine farms or an evening at one of Franschhoek's gourmet restaurants.

Cape Town is just 60 mins drive away, as are the whales in Hermanus. Maison Fougère is conveniently situated at the centre of the village and within walking distance of some of the top International restaurants. The Franschhoek area is the gourmet capital of South Africa with more than 60 quality restaurants to choose from.

Attractions:Franschhoek Valley is surrounded by mountain ranges and the rolling foothills are fruit farm and vineyard clad. You can explore these estates on foot, on bikes or bus, even on horseback from Paradise Stables. You can have guided tours in groups or as individuals.
There is a tram that will take you on a tour of the far-flung and close-by wine tasting linking all the estates with a hop-on-hop-off service. But book early because this is a very popular attraction allowing you to taste many of the worlds best wines and be delivered back to the village centre. From there you can be taken to your door in one of the many Tuk-Tuk rikshaws that service the town.
For the hiking or climbing enthusiast there are mountain trails of varying degrees of difficulty.

Always a pleasure to go to a beautiful, clean well-run town. You can walk the town & find great restaurants, interesting shops & even play boules.
The Wine Train for sure
So many wonderful places to eat including lovely outdoor courtyards with live music; lovely bespoke shops plus some necessities like Clicks; incredible world-class wine estates with wine tasting & pairing experiences and the wine tram; lovely accommodation well-tiered; safe to walk around. For an outstanding experience and meal I would recommend La Petite Colombe on Leeu estates.
