Beautiful and relaxing setting. Will be back
Excellent!!!! The best service and experience I ever had and I do travel a lot. Each and every staff member deserves and accolade.
Attention to detail - very friendly and helpful staff - lovely rooms - even caught my very first brown trout in the hotel dam (I told the Miles that some of my flies had got caught in the trees and he promptly cut the tree down for me - how's that for service!!!!!)
We attended a wedding at a nearby venue and decided to book a chalet at Fordoun Hotel. What a beautiful relaxing set-up they have. Accommodation is self-catering in a fully serviced chalet.
It is a home away from home.
At a distance, one sees the whitey top of the Drakensberg mountains.
We are planning to have either a weekend or full week stay with children so that they can experience a farm-style life.
We fell in love with their Spa set-up and heated indoor pool, although time did not permit us to indulge in their offering. Hoping to see you there !
Our Superior room, was extremely well furnished, with lounge, dressing room, and a stunning bathroom - which included an outdoor shower, with a beautiful view of the Drakensberg in the distance. Underfloor heating and a fireplace ensured we kept warm. THE most comfortable bed I've slept in! The Skye restaurant is superb, and the Duck was probably the best I've eaten anywhere in the world! A superb wine list, ranging from R100 to over R500 a bottle, thus catering for all tastes. The breakfast menu offers an extremely wide choice, and I settled for the Toasted Brioche Bread Topped with Grilled Rainbow Trout, Poached Egg, Rocket and Hollandaise Sauce. A great choice! The Spa treatment also ranked among the best I've experienced with the 90 Minute Afrique Gold deep moisturizing treatment well worth the time. Congratulations to Richard Bates and his team for world class service! We will be back!

Midlands Reviews
Midlands is a really magical place, kind of reminded me of Cape Town in some ways. Full of mountains, roses, picturesque views, cozy German restaurants and beers, and just a very special place in South Africa

Everything is a great place!!
Scenery, isolation, crispy weather but not too cold. Not too far to get to.
Threeways Getaway
The family environment with plenty to do - something to appeal to everyone. Loads of fresh air, and plenty of sight-seeing out in nature...rolling hills, farmlands, little pieces of serenity in the middle of our province; arts and crafts and home made goodies...was just great to unwind and relax and just enjoy the beauty of nature.
