We acquired this charming Villa which was built in 1909 by merchants from Hamburg / Germany in 2017. The Villa has lovingly been renovated and carefully restored to its previous beauty. Each room has been individually decorated and has its own particular charm.
Built on rocks in a small enclave within the Sperrgebiet (restricted Diamond Area) is the quaint harbour town of Luderitz with its curious array of historical German-style buildings built during the diamond rush.
Set around the sparkling bay, with their gables, winding stairwells, verandahs, turrets and bay and bow windows, these buildings have a unique character of their own.
The Luderitz area is home to a wide variety of aquatic birds. Large numbers of flamingos, cormorants and seagulls inhabit the shallow lagoon. When sailing in the bay, seals and dolphins can be seen playing in the water.
In Room Facilities:Each room has been individually decorated and has its own particular charm. Free Wi-Fi is available in all the rooms.
Area Information:Alte Loge is offering exclusive kayak tours to 2 destinations.
If the weather permits, we take you out to Halifax Island, where the African Jack-ass Penguin can be observed from the water side. It is believed that Halifax Island is the most northern point on the African Coast, where this penguin breeds. En route, it is possible to see the African Oystercatchers and Heaviside's Dolphins.
Our second option is to paddle through the 1st and 2nd Lagoon where the Luderitz Oysters industry can be observed from close up, and birds like the Flamingo or African Oystercatcher can be seen.
Property Facilities:Coffee and a wide variety of Tea is available throughout the day at the Coffee/Tea station. Free Wi-Fi is available in all the rooms. We trust that you will feel comfortable in our Villa.

The rocky coastline has many uncrowded beaches and numerous small bays and reefs to explore. For anglers favoured species are galjoen, steenbras, dassie and rock lobster.

Luderitz Reviews
Lüderitz for me is the most magical of all the places I have stayed at during my various travels (EX-UK) in Namibia. The delicious seafood (Lüderitz oysters (#1 in the world), rock lobster, Lüderitz Abalone (only available at the fabulous Lüderitz Nest Hotel right on the sea), the fantastic Halifax Island dolphin, seal, penguin and DIAS CROSS Catamaran Tour is a must, Kolmanskop Ghost Town, FELSENKIRCHE and the Waterfront-Harbour are ALL a must. I enjoy running and there is no shortage of gravel roads with virtually no cars to get fit and fully absorb the natural desert surroundings. I highly recommend this place and my favourite two places to eat and drink? PENGUIN RESTAURANT and CRAYFISH BAR & LOUNGE. Lüderitz is the hidden gem of Namibia - for sure.
