Step back in time at Oban Historical Guest Farm, a charming historic farmstay steeped in history. Nestled in a scenic valley near the Van Reenen Valley, our farm offers a peaceful oasis where you can relax and unwind, surrounded by the beauty of nature. The guest farm was established in 1922 and we are passionate about preserving its rich heritage.
Our spacious and comfortable guest rooms are furnished with antique pieces and feature en-suite bathrooms with a nostalgic touch that harkens back to a simpler time. Each one has its own unique character and share a common thread of warmth and hospitality.
In the mornings, enjoy a hearty breakfast made with fresh, local ingredients. Our restaurant also serves lunch and dinner, featuring a variety of South African dishes.
We offer a variety of room types to suit all budgets, from classic double rooms to family suites, self-catering cottages and pet-friendly cottages. All of our rooms are equipped with electric blankets and heaters are on ‘stand-by’ for your comfort. Need a fan? Just ask us and we’ll be happy to oblige. Enjoy a delicious breakfast each morning in our restaurant, which serves up traditional South African cuisine made with fresh, local ingredients.
In addition to our guest rooms, we also offer a variety of amenities and activities to keep our guests entertained. Our restaurant serves delicious home-cooked meals made with fresh, local ingredients. We also have a bar, a portable swimming pool, a sun terrace, and outdoor braai facilities.
Our guests can enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, birdwatching, and visiting the nearby towns of Van Reenen and Clarens. We are also close to the Golden Gate Highlands National Park and the Giant's Castle Game Reserve.
When you're not exploring the surrounding countryside, you can relax and unwind in our beautiful garden, enjoy a meal at our restaurant, or simply curl up by the fireplace with a good book. We are proud to offer our guests a unique and unforgettable experience.

Harrismith Reviews
Being in the mountain and the tranquil view.
Going to Greensleeves Guesthouse for the secure lockup Garage.
We didn't go in to Harrismith. We usually stop at the Engen 1 Stop on our way to the coast.
Love the mountains!!
