Berchtesgaden is a Ranch & Farm in the malaria free pristine Waterberg Biosphere of Limpopo, much loved by both local and international travelers for its ecosystems, abundance of beautiful wildlife, our sustainable farming methods, as well as our comfortable, luxurious accommodations - all which are within two hours of OR Tambo International.
Berchtesgaden offers a secure lodge area where you will find the majority of the amenities, plenty of fun activities, accommodation, the Boma & Lapa area, Wellness Centre and a lot more. There is a pool, jacuzzi and giant chess board on ½ hectare of luscious green lawn. Close to the Boma are all the communal facilities you would need for self-catering, which includes fridges, freezers, a microwave, 2x stoves, plenty of countertops and ample storage space. These facilities are in addition to the kitchenette in each chalet.
The kitchenettes in the chalets are each equipped with a microwave, small fridge/freezer combo and kettle.
The wellness centre host the day spa, gymnasium and large thatched observation deck overlooking the grass lands where the animals roam early morning and at sunset. The nearby business centre was carefully designed to include privacy and the silent atmosphere of the African bush. Secure, shaded parking is available for your vehicle, which is close to your chalets and the main Lodge.
Just opposite the Ranch's entrance, you will find the Lifestyle farm or as we call it the Boerplaas. Here we practice everyday farming and currently have pigs, sheep, chickens, goats and Jersey cows. Contact the office for guided excursion to live the farm life and milk the cows, say hello to Mary the lamb and all the rest. Most of the the produce we do use in the lodge do come from the Boerplaas. Here at the BOERPLAAS we now offer a 8-sleeper guest house with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms of which the main bedroom has full en-suite with bath. You can now live the farm without owing it.

Our goal is to give you, your family and your friends the opportunity to experience all that makes Africa such an amazing place; and to do it in a manner by which you have the freedom to explore and utilize our property and facilities as if it is your own.

What we had in Vaalwater was amazing! Things that everyone wanna see but my wish is to visit one of the best Lodges in our area which is "Tshwene lodge".
I definitely recommend it, we had so much fun and enjoyed the swimming, fishing and walks around the lodge. Its clean and beautiful. The staff are friendly and helpful. We cannot wait to go back again.
My goodness! What a heavenly place! We booked Eagles Nest and it was everything as advertised and more. Gréât cycling and game driving. The view is just incredible from our beds. The house felt just like home - cosy, inviting, easy to live in. The night skies were magical. Sunrise and sunsets breath taking. Wonderful friendly staff. Thank you!!
