THE WILD – Glamping was started in 2020 to offer a unique family glamping experience in the heart of the Wilderness National Park along the Garden Route. The Wild Glamping has two unique lodgings.
The Wild- Bush camp can accommodate 6
(4 Adults and 2 children). We offer an outdoor Glamping experience with an outdoor entertainment deck with braai, outdoor kitchen, dinning, shower and toilet.
The Wild - Suite can accommodate 4 and offers a large apartment with all the lu and comfort that you would expect.
The Wild - Bush camp has two unique rooms, namely the Lodge tent and the Cabin tent.
The Lodge tent is under the trees and has a Queen size bed and a sleeper couch and is tastefully decorated.Sleeps max 4 persons (2 adults).
Step out onto a shaded patio and onto a fully equipped outdoor kitchen and bathroom with a hot shower and flush toilet.
Guest have there own private sun deck with a braai area overlooking the mountains and partial lake views.
An additional lower deck has the Cabin tent with two single beds .
We offer private safe and secure parking for two cars.
Wilderness is located in the heart of South Africa's famous Garden Route, a captivating world of lakes, rivers, estuaries and beaches gently unfolds against a backdrop of lush forest and lofty mountains – all elements that characterise the Wilderness Section of the Garden Route National Park. Nature trails wind through densely wooded forest and along tranquil rivers, affording you the opportunity to encounter the brilliantly coloured Knysna lourie, or one of the five kingfisher species that occur here. During spring, a carpet of flowers, further enhance the verdant beauty of this national park.
Looking for an action packed holiday adventure? Then, Wilderness Section is your playground. Experience whales & dolphins from Dolphin Point. Hire a canoe or bicycle, go abseiling, paragliding or hang-gliding. Go boating, fishing at Island Lake or hike in and around the Ebb & Flow Rest Camp. You do not have to be super fit to enjoy the natural beauty of the area. There are activities for young, old, energetic or idle: take a stroll along a forest path or visit the bird hide and discover the wealth of bird life. Lie back in a canoe on a quiet backwater and watch the world float by. Camp under the stars alongside the river or stay in log cabins on stilts.
The Wilderness Section of the Garden Route National Park stretches from the Touw River mouth to the Swartvlei estuary and beyond, where it links with the Goukamma Nature Reserve, giving welcome protection to five lakes and the Serpentine, which is the winding strip of water joining Island Lake to the Touw River.
Property Facilities:Our Bush camp has a fully equipped outdoor kitchen with an undercounter fridge freezer. The large deck area has a Braai/Barbecue facilities and we provide wood for the first night.
The Wild - Suite is spacious and fully equipped for your comfort
Attractions:A short walk to the Brown hooded kingfisher trail or nearby Island lake has a picnic area with swimming from the beach on the lake. Malachite bird hide is nearby and only a short drive to Ebb and Flow to visit the world class half-collared kingfisher trail and waterfall hike. We can book Eco boat cruises along the Touw river The deserted local beach is only 2km away. Paragliding at Klienkrantz, Map of Africa, Gerickes point for snorkeling,Vic Bay for surfing and our famous Saturday morning Wild Oats Farmers market in Sedgefield.

Wilderness offers a wide variety of activities for all ages with an abundance of hiking trails, canoe offerings and paragliding available, whilst being surrounded by some of the most pristine beaches our country has to offer. If you love nature and adventure, Wilderness is your playground. For daytrips, you have the option of visiting neighbouring areas including George, Sedgefield, Knysna and Plettenberg. This is definitely a home away from home.
