Out of Africa is located at the foot of the Magaliesburg mountain range, just 70 kilometers from Johannesburg in the Western Transvaal. It is an hours drive from the Johannesburg Airport to Out of Africa.
Accommodation at Out of Africa consists of:
There are five individually decorated double-storey thatched cottages, which can accommodate two to four guests. There is an upstairs sundeck, brass beds, lovely linen, hand crafted tea sets and stunning art works in the cottages. The cottages are equipped with queen sized beds, en-suite bathrooms, a coffee station, fresh fruit, fridge, balcony and patio.
At Out of Africa you will be served a scrumptious breakfast daily and for dinner you can enjoy a dinner basket, which will be served to you at the suite with candles, for a real romantic feel. The summer time is a fabulous time for braaiing, and you will be given braai baskets on request. The Goblins Cove Fantasy Restaurant is just 11kms down the road, where you can enjoy a great a la carte meal.
There is a lovely spa/hot spring in the area where you can be pampered and rejuvenate. For those who enjoy fishing, there are fishing spots nearby where you can try and catch the big fish. If you are you to relax then you can just enjoy the day at the swimming pool, and go home with a good tan.

Out of Africa Staff were really lovely and the meals were delicious. The only disappointment is that Afristay states that there is a TV and that the rooms have fridges - the owner said that they have never had fridges - so that was a little misleading and disappointing.
Otherwise the venue was sweet enough, clean and the surroundings was awesome.
Also loved the extra little touches like your car being cleaned on the last day.
I would recommend Out of Africa to all who want to take a break from the city. The Rooms are beautifully clean, breakfast is great, as well as dinner BUT most of all the staff members were exceptional!! Jerimiah you have a hands on with such professionalism and care!!! Will be back again without a doubt!!!!
I enjoyed everything while on holiday and staying at/Out of Africa lodge. The air was amazing, taking a hike across the river, coming back to a very quiet cottage to read in absolute silence was a definition of a time well spent. The amazing breakfasts by the river are superb and the spa massage was so needed and soothing to my body..and soul. The caretakers were all hospitable and their turnaround time on providing support and serving customers is commendable. I definitely would do this again. A great getaway.

We really enjoyed the weekend away with my husband. It was so relaxing. The courtesy from Jeremiah's team was too much thanks guys keep up the good work.
Lovely getaway for peace and tranquility. Staff are very friendly, food was wonderful. We booked the doll house but my partner was not happy with it, so luckily we were able to get another room, which was much better. Overall a really beautiful place.

This place is a nice getaway lodge. We went here in winter and they kept making sure the fire and fireplaces were constantly burning.

Magaliesberg is great to get close to local Joburg nature, relax and rejuvenate from daily stresses of city life and work.
It's is a beautiful place and a short travelling distance from Johannesburg or Pretoria.

Going to the upside-down house
Travel by day prevents being surprised by potholes, so pack in some patience when heading this way. Magaliesburg's Little Roadhouse had friendly service and fabulous slap chips. The Route 66 Events held at Mt Grace Hotel were most enjoyable. Looking forward to our next visit.
