Located in the Swellendam CBD, Barrel & Blues is the ideal destination for backpackers and travelers. Designed for the young at heart, our rooms are located above our restaurant and bar where live shows are available on certain days.
Barrel & Blues Backpackers is located at the corner of Andrew Whyte Street & Voortrek Street. Famous for its pub, steaks, and live music shows, we are the ideal stop for the young at heart. We have restored to heritage building back to its former glory where you will be stunned by our wooden finishings and vintage furniture.

Swellendam is the third oldest town in South Africa, a town with 17,537 inhabitants situated in the Western Cape province. La Belle Alliance restaurant is AMAZING for breakfast!
I enjoyed Aan De Eike Guesthouse, My room were clean and the service were excellent.I felt very safe enjoyed every moment since I arrived. Swellendam is beautiful with most beautiful views. The location was very convenient and would recommend The Republican Restaurant. The food and vibe were awesome. It's safe to walk in Swellendam, what a beautiful place for entertainment

Scenery, the residents, the roads are in great condition (compared to many many many other towns/cities in SA).
Wildebraam Estate. Friendly people. No traffic. Has all the shops and places one needs.
