Transkaroo is situated about 750 km from Johannesburg and Cape Town – on the N10 route between Middelburg Eastern Cape and Hanover in the Northern Cape on the N10 route. It is placed under the Noupoort area.

Farm-style accommodation is offered in restored farmhouses that are all suited for self-catering farm holidays or overnight stays. The two farmhouses (fully equipped) and overnight huts (for hikers, 4 x 4 visitors etc.) can accommodate up to 12 guests per facility.

Rietpoort: (Accommodates 12 people)

This farmhouse has 4 bedrooms, two bathrooms (one with bath, toilet and basin – the other with bath, shower, basin and separate toilet).A big livingroom with DSTV (if arranged) and lovely sun room. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a dining area as well. There is also an outside undercover braai area just off the kitchen.The house is situated at the foot of a mountain with beautiful surrounds and a large garden.Cot available for babies

Wilgerfontein:(Accommodates 12 people)

This old farmhouse comes without electricity. The house has 4 bedrooms and two bathrooms (one with bath, basin and separate toilet – the other with shower, basin and toilet).The big living room also has a large dining table, and the fully equipped kitchen is perfect for big groups. Just off the kitchen you find the undercover outside braai area.
Warm water is provided with a gas geyser or “donkey” heated by the fire made in the braai area. Gas lanterns and candles are provided.

Uitsig: (Accommodates 12 people)

This is an old shed that was restored to accommodate hiking groups who do the 3 day hiking trail. It is an beautiful sandstone building divided in two. One half is the “bedroom” with 12 single beds and a small basin.
The other half is the “kitchen” that has an open braai area, a big table and washbasin. This is very basic and rustic.
There is no electricity, gas lamps and candles provided. The shower only has cold water and is outside of the building, as well as the “long-drop” toilet.

Weltevrede: (Accommodates 12 people)

This old farmhouse is at the top of the mountain, with spectacular views. It has 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms (both with shower, toilet and basin). The small kitchen and dining area makes for a cozy social area. The house does not have electricity, but a gas geyser, gas lamps and candles are provided.

The Cottage:

This is two rooms at the back of the main farmhouse. Each has its own bathroom with shower, toilet and basin. The “stoep” is converted into a small selfcatering “kitchenette” and there is an outside private braai area.

Guests staying here are welcome to use the tennis court, plunge pool and play area.

There is undercover parking available.
