Sleep just metres away for our lions' night enclosure in our romantically decorated Lion Cabins. These air-conditioned cabins sleep up to 2 adults sharing (minimum age 18 years) and can be rented either as self-catering units or breakfast included. Each has its own braai facilities, and deck where you can enjoy the wild cats that surround the area, and look onto the lions. There are 4 cabins to choose from. Cabin 1 is tucked away next to a wetland with sheltered braai area and closest to the parking area. Cabin 2 and 3 look directly onto the lion night enclosure. Cabin 4 is our most romantic cabin with good view of the lions and mountains in the background. When booking, you may request your cabin preference.
For security reasons our main gate closes at 18h00 and will re-open at 07h00. Guests will be provided with a gate remote which will allow access in and out of the property. This will be attached to their key. No check-ins will be allowed after 20h00.
As we are a licensed facility we ask that guest do not bring their own alcohol onto the property. We have a bar on site that accepts cash as well as card and any specific drinks can be pre-arranged with us.
Please note the following concerning our cancellation policy during COVID - 19 pandemic: For any bookings made from 1 January 2021 onwards, requests to waive cancellation fees will only be considered on the provision of a positive CoVid certificate by one of the guests, or the provision of a legislated document providing proof of border closure.
We reserve the right to change our cancellation policy due to the changing nature of the COVID – 19 pandemic.

Reviews
We stayed in the lion cabins, which are close enough to the lions that the roar of Makulu shook our room. These cabins are amazing value for money and you can be happy in the fact that you are helping the rehabilitation of both land and marine wildlife.
I cannot recommend the lion cabins enough. You can literally see the cats from your bed. This was the most amazing experience of my life and I cannot wait to go back for longer. We stayed for 3 days and it just was not enough.
I would like to thank Cam (Manager) who was amazing throughout out stay, as we're the rest of the stay. It's just a unique experience that I have never had anywhere else in the world.
TENIKWA is just a special place and it is made that way by the dedication of the owners (Mandy and Len) and the staff. Unfortunately, due to covid it needs more people to visit, so they can help even more animals/wildlife in need.
It has everything you need on site, you literally do not need to leave and I would happily live there.
We did the cats in conservation day tour, which is a full day, but you are very involved, it is amazing value for money and is worth so much more than you pay. You help feed the animals, visit the hospital area and lunch is included.
We also did the forest walk with picnic, which was taken by Cam (Manager). Its a lovely relaxing walk through the forest with Cam explaining everything you could hope to know. He is extremely knowledgeable, really loves nature and enjoys his job clearly. I am not really interested in fauna and flora (Fynbos), but I really enjoyed learning about the forest, what it offers to the local wildlife and what place it has in our world.
Just an amazing, amazing time and I couldn't recommend it enough. TENIKWA needs your help and really does deserve it. Please visit and stay in the LION CABINS. You will not regret it.
I WILL be visiting again soon and would happily spend my whole holiday at TENIKWA
Lovely accommodation, hosts were so friendly and looked a lovely supper for us. The guide and staff all so knowledgable and you could sense their pride and dedication to the animals. Just lying in bed and listening to the lions roaring was an experience of a lifetime
