Reviews
Perfect accommodation for our stop over. Comfortable beds and super spacious rooms. The breakfast spread was superb. Was great to meet the owner/chef and hear the background behind the lodge.
Had an excellent stay. The rooms are neat, clean and well looked after. The breakfast was very good. Storms River village itself is a very special place with good scenery and great little shops and restaurants.
We had a great time, with the best breakfast and very informative hosts.Anje really went out of her way to make us feel comfortable .
Ploughmans Rest is a lovely place for people enjoying nature and looking for stress removal, if you want to stay for your holiday.
It's also a good place to start your Tsitsikama tours from here.
The atmosphere is very familiar and friendly, the rooms are ok with a little feeling of an old farmhouse (I would name it romantic) and Maggie's breakfast is excellent
the rest is simple yet well maintained, with great gardens in the self catering rooms. downstairs rooms can hear upstairs footsteps but small issue considering the price and proximity to forests and stroms river villiage
