Beautiful hotel and delicious food.
Fantastic hotel with great service and food! A must visit!
The service was excellent and the inclusive breakfast very good.
The large dining room was warm with a lovely fire but we would have liked a quiet lounge area to read a book, chat with friends or have a drink. The tapas bar was a lively space with two tv's in quite a small area, so not suitable for relaxing. There was plenty to do and see in the area and the hotel was a good base.
Fantastic food, friendly and very helpful staff. We stayed in the honeymoon suite, well worth the money! It was clean, spacious and private, just what we wanted. We highly recommend the Tulbagh Hotel
We were originally booked at another establishment, but after having breakfast at The Olive Bistro (the hotel's restaurant) and receiving fantastic service, we decided to change our booking the Tulbagh Heritage Boutique Hotel. The room had quality bedding and the bathroom offered a massive shower with very nice guest shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The basin also had the same quality hand-wash and hand-cream. The tea/coffee station was fully stocked as well as the bar fridge.
We spent some time at the pool, ordered Gin & Tonics and jalapeno poppers. The service at the pool was 5-star. We decided to have dinner at The Olive Bistro and the service again was fantastic. The food was well presented and very good (the hand-cut chips is amazing). We will try the pizza next time as it is apparently very good.
Breakfast, which was delicious, was served on the patio at The Olive Bistro. The FOH Manager really went out of her way to accommodate my breakfast request.
The overall experience was 5-out-of-5! We can/will recommend the Tulbagh Heritage Boutique Hotel and will most definitely return for a couples getaway.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommended.
We always get excellent service!! Personnel very friendly and professional. Very nice atmosphere, especially in winter. The best menu and food in Tulbach. The rooms are 5-star quality and very spacious. We just love this little hotel!
We just love the Tulbagh Hotel, the recent improvements are certainly that, the dining room modern and bright, the tapas/wine bar lovely, TVs for sport etc.
The two new Heritage poolside rooms are a great addition. We look forward to returning again (when you get home to freezing Scotland, it can't come soon enough!)
We had a phenomenal stay at the Tulbagh Boutique Hotel. It was as if the hotel, rather than Tulbagh itself, was the center of attraction for us and this was quite unexpected.
Thank you very much.
Stayed over last Wednesday 8th August after a very late booking at 6:00 pm and was treated wonderfully by Monia and her team. She went out of her way to provide off street parking with security for our off road trailer for the night. The room was excellent and we had a stunning meal at a price better than anywhere in Cape Town. I had no problem paying the room rates and the meal as everything was excellent value for money. Well done to Monia and the Tulbagh Hotel team.

Tulbagh Reviews
Our second visit and certainly not the last. So much to do and see!
Scenery
Wine, scenery, sunset
Beautiful, historic and quaint little town. Stroll down church street and have a roosterkoek at Kole & Deeg. Highly recommend the Gin Yard at Vindoux wine farm. The Spar gets ridiculously busy on long weekends so rather come prepared unless you want to stand in line for 30 mins. The Tulbagh Nursery is awesome if you’re into gardening and plants. And take the Bain’s Kloof pass if you want a beautiful scenic route!
The quaint town, the beautiful scenery, the olive tasting.
Everything!
Wine, the history side.
We found Tulbagh to be close enough to Cape Town for a quick weekend away with family & friends.
Clean town with stunning wine farms, wine tasting and lovely restaurants.
Very picturesque with great hiking, mountain biking trails.
Lots of convenient shops in the town.
Can't wait for our next visit.
We loved our Sunday lunch at Tulbagh Hotel and Champagne tasting at Krone.
We went to Essere lodge for a weekend and loved it! Have done many wine tastings at the surrounding farms, love going there often.
