We enjoyed our stop over in Robertson.
A Gem of a Place to Stay:
We were a group of 18 bicyclists and had a lovely time at Gubas De Hoek. The grounds and pool inside are tranquil and a real refuge. Rooms are spacious, nice and a good sleep. For our group, the inn put on a special dinner which was superb, featuring traditional South African country dishes. But the best was the very welcoming and gracious owners of the inn.
If you are in the area, we highly recommend staying here. Overall, this was one of the top places we stayed at during our 2+ week stay in South Africa.
Everything about this property screams amazingness. From the welcome to goodbye. The rooms are well presented, the service is immaculate, the owner's are hotelier's of note.
Gubas de Hoek is a truly outstanding place on which to base your visit to Robertson and surrounding areas. In our opinion it offers great value for money and is well located.
We stayed only one night in this well-run guest house. Our room was a modern loft space with small balcony overlooking tidy gardens and a pool. Food, dinner and breakfast, were served in the garden and conversation with other guests was encouraged and something we enjoyed.
Excellent base for touring the wine region. Garden loft very comfortable. Great hosts, very helpful and attentive. Lovely breakfast, secure parking. Plenty of outdoor space to enjoy the weather together with a swimming pool.
Very friendly owners welcomed us upon arrival, had a fabulous stay in their cozy loft room after a hearty meal at bourbon street. Delicious breakfast complimentary with our booking made for an excellent start to our adventures the next day! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Robertson Reviews
The natural beauty. Pies from Affie Plaas.
Hiking trails and restaurants.
Plenty to do. Abundance of wine farms. Beautiful views.
Quaint little town. Friendly people. Lots to do.
Ek is gebore en getoeë van Robertson. Dit sal altyd my hartsplekkie wees. Was aangenaam verras om Die Laaitjie op jul webtuiste te sien. Dit was oorspronklik my oorlede pa se suster en haar man se plaas. My pa het op die aangrensende plaas geboer. Ek en my broers het saam met die neefs Die Laaitjie plat gespeel. Die waterval was daardie jare al 'n groot aantrekkingskrag vir kuiergaste. Oujaarsaande is groot makietie hier gehou. Selfs die dorps inwoners het kom meedoen. Dankie vir die mooi fotos. Ek kon so bietjie in my kinderskoene terug stap.
Robertson is really a gem in the Cape Winelands, great wine tasting and dining (Christina's @ Van Loveren, Bourbon Street, Four Cousins, Excelsior) experience all in an authentic environment. A short drive from CT, ideal for a relaxing weekend at a small town pace, to recharge your batteries.
