The Hambana Lifestyle Lodge is located just in front of the world famous Modjadji rainmakers rock. Rainmaker’s rock. Pushed up from the Earth’s interior 45 million years ago. A sacred place. Legend has it that the snakeman and the hundreds of dassies guard the rock. The rock is said to contain the treasures of an ancient African civilization. Leopard Rock (the Pride Rock) with a view over the bush and Zimbabwe. The King of the Maulwe people ruled and lived here around the year 450. his village was at the foot of the rock. Areological remains can even now simply be picked up from the ground. A number of finds are on display in the National African Museum in Pretoria.
