Welcome to 1 Royal Street Guesthouse, a unique and charming boutique guesthouse nestled in the heart of Riebeek Kasteel, one of the oldest and most historic towns in South Africa. Located at the foot of the majestic Kasteelberg mountain in the stunning Swartland region, our guesthouse is housed in a beautifully restored old Victorian house.
Each room features a private en-suite bathroom. Each room contains air-conditioning, a stocked mini-bar fridge, a TV with Netflix and DStv apps, a fan, coffee/tea facilities, as well as free Wi-Fi access.
As you enter our guesthouse, you will be greeted by two concrete Dachshunds, which represent a part of our family history and love for animals. We have collected numerous art works and items from our travels, which are on display throughout the guesthouse. We hope that you will appreciate them as much as we have enjoyed collecting them.

Cafe Felix is lovely. We had dinner there. Wonderful atmosphere. The quiet of the town. At night you can "hear" the silence. Beautiful place.
The wonderful location, the views, the mountains and the local people. We met a fantastic artist call Piet Blom, and his wife Hester! His paintings are all about trees, and the complexity in his art is incredible!! We bumped into Mornè du Plessis, what a great man! And Roberto the Italian owner of Angies is a great host and looking after every patron personally.
For me the people, the unique town setup and the wine and nature and the simplicity of all makes it a great destination.
